BackgroundOwing to its high disability rate, high recurrence rate and high mortality rate, stroke has been the second leading cause of death in the world. With the acceleration of population aging in China, the incidence of stroke in our country is getting higher and higher, especially in the elderly population, and young patients with stroke also showed a rising trend year by year.As a common psychological and behavioral disorder complication, the incidence of post-stroke depression is higher and higher. However,at present, the pathogenesis of post-stroke depression is still not clear, and there is no difference between the treatment of post-stroke depression and the treatment of primary depression, mainly including monoamine oxidase inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors. However, monoamine oxidase inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants has been rarely used, because of their side effects and adverse reactions.Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors and selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors are also less selective. With the development of molecular biology, the effects of miR-137 on neurons, synaptic plasticity, angiogenesis and other aspects gradually surfaced, therefore, there is a promising perspective to study post-stroke depression by the molecular biological mechanism,to seek a new method for the treatment of post-stroke depression.ObjectiveTo explore the level of mi R-137 of patients with depression after ischemic stroke and its clinical significance.MethodsThe samples were divided into four groups according to the following criteria :Guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of acute ischemic stroke in China: 2014 diagnostic criteria for acute cerebral infarction,Hamilton depression scale(HAMD?24),Diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders, the fifth edition(DSM-5).All the samples were finally grouped as normal control group(n=20),the depression group(n=20),post-stroke depression group(n=37),no depression after stroke group(n=37).The expression level of mi R-137 in each group was detected by quaIltitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR),and the results were compared.Results(1)The indexes of gender, age, chronic dieases, the site of infarction,NIHSS score were no significances by the four group(all P>0.05).(2)The number of patients with left cerebral infarction was of significant difference between post-stroke depression group and no depression after stroke group,post-stroke depression group and no depression after stroke group compared to the left cerebral infarction were significantly increased(P<0.05).No depression after stroke group,post-stroke depression group, depression group miR-137 decreased significantly compared with the normal control group(P<0.05);post-stroke depression group miR-137 significantly decreased compared with no depression after stroke group(P<0.05);the level of mi R-137 between post-stroke depression group and depression group was of no significance(P>0.05).Conclusions(1)Ischemic stroke can induce the lower expression of miR-137 which paticipates in the formation of post-stroke depression.miR-137 acts as a predictive, diagnostic, therapeutic index of poststroke depression.(2)The location of stroke is associated with PSD,and the incidence of PSD may be higher in the left hemisphere.
