The solubility of active ingredient may be enhanced by using solubilizers,due to the molecular interaction between solubilizers and the active ingredients in traditional Chinese medicine.The enhancement in extraction of artemisinin and luteolin were studied by using solubilizer screened out,respectively.1.Application of Solubilizers in the Extraction of ArtemisininSolubilizers of phenolic hydroxyl family might increase the extraction yield of artemisinin.Among the phenol tested,ethyl paraben was the best agent.The optimized extraction conditions of artemisinin were listed as follows: 100.0 g of 30 mesh artemisia annua powder was extracted with 3 g of ethyl paraben and 500 ml of petroleum ether.The mixture was refluxed with stirring for 3 hours at a constant temperature of40?,which was maintained by oil bath.The filtrate was extracted three times,merged the filtrate.After filtrated,the ethyl paraben and petroleum ether were recycled.After being decolorized with activated carbon and filtered,the filtrate was washed with 2% NaOH aqueous solution to remove alkali-soluble solubilizer.Crude powder of artemisinin was obtained,as the ether solvent was evaporated from the solution,then dried with air.The purity was 40.8 %,and the yield was 84.3%.Pure powder of artemisinin was obtained by column chromatography and recrystallization,the purity was 97.2 %,and the yield was 82.5%.2.Application of Solubilizers in the Extraction of LuteolinSolubilizers of carbonyl or hydroxyl family might increase the extraction yield of luteolin.Among the compound tested 1-ethyl-2-pyrrolidinonene was the best agent.The optimized extraction conditions of luteolin were listed as follows: 100.0 g of 30 mesh peanut shell powders was extracted with 2 g of 1-ethyl-2-pyrrolidinonene and 600 ml of anhydrous ethanol.The mixture was refluxed with stirring for 6 hours at a constant temperature of 40?,which was maintained by oil bath.The filtrate was extracted three times,merged the filtrate.The filtrate was evaporated to concentrate,and solid was separated out by a large number of saturated NaCl solution.The solid was washed HAC solution.Crude powder of luteolin product was obtained after dried.The purity was32.2%,and the yield was 85.4%.Pure powder of luteolin was obtained by column chromatography and recrystallization,the purity was 93.6 %,and the yield was 83.1%.
