Clinical Treatment Research On Congenital Microtia

Objective:We compared the clinical surgical results of 6 patients who received Autogenous Rib Cartilage Transplantation and 2 patients who received ear reconstruction with MEDPOR ear framework.Contents and methods:We concluded the surgical results of the 6 patients from Plastic Surgery Hospital(Institute),CAMS,PUMC and HUASHAN hospital in shanghai,and evaluated the effects of the two different materials——Autogenous Rib Cartilage and MEDPOR ear framework.Results:(1)Among the 8 patients,the 6 patients receiving the Autogenous Rib Cartilage Transplantation recovered well,achieved the healing by first intention and discharged on time.Treatment outcome was satisfactory.(2)Among the 8 patients,2 patients receiving MEDPOR ear framework recovered well.Conclusions:After reviewing the 8 patients with Congenital Microtia,and analyzing the experience and lessons of the treatment process,we believe that both of the two materials could have satisfactory effects of the congenital microtia.However,we didn't collect enough cases,and this results may not be so convincing.We will collect more cases in the future.
