Two parts are involved in this dissertation: The studies on the chemical constituents and biological activity of the Scutellaria luzonica Rolfe var and Scutellaria hainanensis C.Y.Wu.The chemical structures were established on the basis of the extensive spectroscopic data analysis and by the comparison with spectroscopic data analysis and by the comparison with spectroscopic data reported in the literature.Thirty-six compounds were identified from the Scutellaria hainanensis C.Y.Wu and Scutellaria luzonica Rolfe var.The S.hainanensis C.Y.Wu and S.luzonica Rolfe var belongs to Labiatae of Scutellaria.The aerial part of Scutellaria has wide therapeutic functions and potentially beneficial effects,such as antibacterial activity,anti-HIVand antitumor activity.Seventeen compounds were obtained from the extract of the whole of the Scutellaria hainanensis C.Y.Wu.Including?-?4-?dimethylamino?-1-?2-hydroxypropyl?-Pyridinium?1?,loliolide?2?,syringaldehyde?3?,6-Methoxyl-scutellarin?4?,apigenin?5?,2?S?-5,7,2?-Trihydroxy-8-methoxyflavanone?6?,2?S?-5-Hydroxy-7,8,2?,6?-tetramethoxyflavanone?7?,baicalein-7-O-?-glucuronopyranoside?8?,homoplantaginin?9?,5,7-Dihydroxy-8,2?-dimethoxyflavone-7-O-?-glucuronopyranoside?10?,hispidulin-7-O-?-D-glucuronopyranoside?11?,wogonin-7-O-glucuronicacid?12?,2?S?-5,6,7-Trihydroxyflavanone-7-O-?-D-glucuronopyranoside?13?,2?S?-5,7,2?-Trihydroxy-8-methoxyflavanone-7-glucoside?14?,?-?syringaresinol-4-O-?-D-glucopyranoside?15?,acteoside?16?,isoverbascoside?17?.Among them,compound 1 is new product.Compounds 6 and 16 showed antibacterial activity against S.aureus with the same MIC values of 12.5 ?g/mL.Compounds 13 and 16 showed antibacterial activity against Methicillin-resistant S.aureus with the same MIC values of 6.25 ?g/m L.Compounds 4-7,13 and 16 showed antibacterial activity against V.parahaemolyticus with the same MIC values of 25.0 ?g/mL.The other compounds showed weak or no antibacterial activity with the MIC values ofmore than 10 ?g/mL.Compounds 5 and 7 showed anti-insect activity against Cotton bollworm with the IC50 values of 150 and 100?g/mL,respectively.Nineteen compounds were isolated from the mix of Petroleum ether and EtOAc extract of the S.luzonica Rolfe var.The isolated compounds were identified as5-hydroxy-7-methoxyflavanone?18?,6-methoxynaringenin?19?,5,6,7,4'-tetrahydroxyflavanone?20?,5,7,2'-trihydroxyflavone?21?,5,7-dihydroxyflavone?22?,hispidulin?23?,5,7,8-trihydroxyl-6-methoxyflavone?24?,wogonin?25?,5,6-dihydroxyl-7-methoxyflavone?26?,5,7,3',4'-tetrahydroxyflavone?27?,baicalein?28?,oroxylin A?29?,5,8-dihydroxy-7-methoxyflavone?30?,5,7,2'-trihydroxy-8-methoxyflavone?31?,benzyl-O-?-D-apiofuranosyl-?1?2?-?-D-glucopyranoside?32?,citroside A?33?,darendoside B?34?,baicalein 7-O-?-glucuronopyranoside?35?,bis?2-ethylhexyl?phthalate?36?.Compounds 25,27 and 28 showed strong antibacterial activity against V.parahaemolyticus with the same MIC values of 3.12?g/mL.The other compounds showed weak or no antibacterial activity with the MIC values of more than 10 ?g/mL.Compounds 22,29 and 31 showed antimosquito larvae activity with the LC50 values of 50,30 and 100 ?g/mL,respectively.
