MiRNAs are newly discovered small-molecule non-coding RNAs with a size of about 21-25 nucleotides in recent years. These miRNAs play an important role in the regulation of gene expression at post-transcriptional level.MicroRNA-128(miR-128)is a class of brain tissue-enriched miRNAs that play an important role in the development and maintenance of the nervous system. In recent years, more and more studies have found that miR-128 may play an important role in tumorigenesis and maintenance through participating in the regulation of tumor cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, invasion, angiogenesis, and drug resistance. The expression and localization of miR-128,in-depth study of target gene regulation and related signaling pathways,it will be possible to further clarify its role in tumor biology, and is expected to provide a new target for tumor diagnosis, prognosis and treatment. This article reviews the recent development of mi R-128 in cancer research.
