Objective:To investigate the clinical characteristics and analysis outcomes for falcine meningiomas. Methods: To analysis 95 patients with falcine meningiomas who were recepted treatment in our hospital from January 2010 to December 2015.They were divided into three groups, the front type, the central type and posterior meningioma according to its growth in the different sickle. The clinical manifestations, tumor growth characteristics, tumor pathology, and prognosis of the patients were analyzed by t test, variance analysis and X2 test.To analyzed the differences between the three types of meningiomas, and guide the choice of surgical options and evaluate the surgical outcomes. Results:In the study, the total resection of the tumor was 85 cases, the total resection rate of 89.5%;the postoperative complications was 30 cases, the incidence of 31.6%;the recurrence or progress was 6 cases, the recurrence rate of 6.3% and mortality rate of 1.0%.The good therapeutic effect were 83 cases(87.4%).For pathological, the fiber type and epithelial type were more common;WHOI class was 91 cases, the rate of 95.8%.For the classification, the central type(42 cases)and the former type(40 cases)are most commongrowth site, but the rear type(13 cases)is relatively rare. There were statistically significant differences in the rate of neurological symptoms(p=0.026),The incidence of central type was the highest. There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of mental activity(p=0.369).The incidence rate of limb muscle strength or sensory abnormalities were statistically significant(p=0.006),the incidence of central type was the highest. The incidence of visual impairment was statistically different(p=0.002),the rear type is the highest. There was significant difference in total resection rate(p=0.048),the anterior type(97.5%)and the posterior type were relatively higher(92.3%),but the total resection rate of the middle type was relatively lower(81.0%).The incidence of neurological complications was statistically different(p=0.030),and the incidence of central type was the highest. Conclusion: The surgical treatment of cerebrospinal meningiomas is good. The incidence of neurological symptoms of central type, especially for limb muscle and sensory abnormalities are higher, but the total resection rate is lower than that of the other two types. The incidence of postoperative neurological complications is relatively higher. For this type of sickle meningioma, more attention should be paid in the perioperative management and surgical process.
