| OBJECTIVE To investigate the incidence of geriatric syndromes in elderly diabetes mellitus and the influencing factors of geriatric syndromes,In order to guide clinicians to assess and actively intervene in geriatric syndromes,raise awareness of the geriatric syndromes in elderly diabeticand improve the quality of life of patients.METHODS Including 156 patients aged ?60 years old who were hospitalized from the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University from May2016 to December 2016,according to diabetes is divided into diabetes and non-diabetic control group,to collect general clinical data,to assess daily life ability,nutrition,cognitive function,falls risk,multiple medication and chronic pain.To compare the Geriatric Syndromes of two groups,explore the relationship between Diabetes Mellitus and Geriatric Syndrome and the influencing factors of Geriatric Syndrome.RESULTS Falls risk and polypharmacy is serious in diabetes than control group,The daily living ability,cognitive ability,balance function and gait function were lower than those of the control group(P <0.05),but there was no significant difference in nutritional status and chronic pain between the two groups(P> 0.05).The multiple regression analysis of Geriatric Syndrome and age,culture level,osteoporosis,diabetes mellitus,stroke,body weight,blood lipid,BMI was statistically significant.CONCLUSION Elderly diabetes are more prone to Geriatric Syndromes and more severe,mainly reflect in the daily living ability,cognitive decline,the risk of falling and polypharmacy.Age,culture level,osteoporosis,diabetes mellitus,stroke,body weight,blood lipid,BMI is the influencing factor of Geriatric Syndromes.Clinicians should pay attention to the elderly patients with diabetes mellitus complicated with Geriatric Syndromes.Comprehensive assessment of elderly patients and active intervention of Geriatric Syndromes. |
