Comparative Study Of Proximal Femoral Nail Antirotation And Locking Proximal Femoral Plate For The Treatment Of Intertrochanter Femoral Fractu

Objective To compare the results between Proximal femoral nail antirotation(PFNA)and locking proximal femoral plate(LPFP)for the treatment of intertrochanter femoral fracture.Methods Between January2013 and November2015 in Zhenhai District of Ningbo City People’s Hospital,Fuyang Chinese medicine orthopedics hospital and Shaoxing People’s Hospital,106 patients with intertrochanteric femoral fractures on conditions of the same age,fracture classification,ASA classification,timing of surgerywere treated with PFNA or LPFP.We reviewed 54cases of PFNA and 52 cases of LPFP retrospectively.Both groups had been treated by Chinese medicine treatment of three stages of dialectical patterns.We evaluated the operation time,amount of leeding,start time of postoperative exercise,mean hospital day,healing time of fracture,Harris hip joint score and mobility.Results Both groups showed good clinical results.The operation time,start time of postoperativ exercise and mean hospital day were significantly shorter in the PFNA group than in the LPFP group(P<0.05).The amount of bleeding were significantly less in the PFNA group than in the LPFP group(P<0.05).The excellent rate of Harris hip joint score after 15 months were significantlybetter in the PFNA group than in the LPFP group(P<0.05).There were no significant differences on the healing time of fracture and mobility between the groups treated with PFNA and LPFP.Conclusion PFNA and LPFP produced good clinical results in the treatment of intertrochanter femoral fracture,but PFNA showed a definite advantage to LPFP,it has less trauma and faster recovery.
