In recent years, the number of people engaged in long-distance running in China has been increasing, but it has also increased with the number of sports injuries. At present, there are few researches on epidemiology of running injuries about recreational runners in China. There is also a lack of enough research to support the relevant damage control strategy. This study was divided into two parts. The first part was a investugation about recreational runnner using the network questionnaire, which access to running habits, lower extremity injury incidence and injury characteristics of recreational runnners. The second part was conducting a series of tests and evaluations about recreational runnners. The grouping was based on the gender and injury. The purpose of this study was to analysis the the relationship between lower extremity structure&function of recreational runner and lower extremity injury combined with all of the data, including the Q angle, lower limb length difference, part of the lower limb joint range, lower limb balance and stability, part of lower limb muscle flexibility, part of the lower limb muscle strength, trunk muscle endurance, foot axis angle, foot arch and some functional movements. And then provided recommendations for the risk of injury screening project about recreational runnners. The support for prevention and control of sports injuries in recreational runners was also provided.Main Results:(1)The incidence of lower extremity running injuries was 81.3%.Knee,ankle,foot were main injury sites.Tibial tibial bundle friction syndrome, knee pain and plantar fasciitis were the most common injuries.(2)There were no significant difference in Q angle, part of the lower limb joint range, lower limb length difference, the length of time about single leg standing with eyes closed, iliopsoas muscle flexibility, iliotomy tonic flexibility, part of lower limb muscle flexibility,Isometric muscle strength of ankle dorsiflexion,Isometric muscle strength of hip adduction/ abduction/ extension, trunk flexion muscle endurance,FMS deep squat test,Single-Leg-Squat test, foot axis angle, midfoot surface between injury group and healthy group.(3)Compared with healthy group, injury group had greater time difference between both lower limbs in single leg standing with eyes closed. Also, injury group had higher proportion of quadriceps muscle tension and poorer trunk lateral muscle endurance. All of these had significant differences and related to running injuries.(4)Female injury group had shorter normalized reach distance of global result than female healthy group. Also the average grade of FMS active straight leg raise test was lower than female healthy group, which was related to running injuries.Main Conclusion:The prevalence of recreational runners' lower limb sports injuriy is 81.3%,mainly in the knee, ankle and foot.Static stability imbalance of bilateral lower extremities, poor quadriceps flexibility, poor trunk lateral endurance maybe the factors of lower extremity injury. The lack of dynamic stability of the lower limbs and the low score from FMS active straight leg raise tests may be risk factors for lower limb injury in female runners. The relevance between Q-Angle,leg length difference, joint mobility, muscle strength, foot arch, part of the functional movements and lower limb long-distance running injury were not strong in this study.
