| Objective: To investigate the effect of 3 brackets,3 archwires and 3 ligating methods on frictional resistance in sliding mechanics,and to investigate the most significant factor that affected it.Methods: All tests were carried out in a dry state on a universal testingmachine,orthogonal design was used in this frictional experiment,which testing 9 different kinds of bracket-archwire-ligation combinations.Analysis of variance and range analysis were used for analysis.Results: The influencing factors of the friction from high to low: method of ligation,size of archwire,kind of bracket;the M-LF bracket with 0.017×0.025 inch stainless steel archwireand 0.20 mm stainless ligation showed least frictional values in all combinations.Conclusions: M-LF bracket can significantly decrease the frictional resistance;Ligation was the most significant factor that affected the frictional force of bracket—wire-ligation combination.frictional force increased with the size of archwire. |
