Prevalence Rate Of Thyroid Nodules And Its Influencing Factors Among Uyghur Nationality In Tianshan Area

Objective:To explore the prevalence of thyroid nodules in Tianshan area of Urumqi in Xinjiang among Uyghur Nationality and to explore the influencing factors.Methods:To select Uyghur residents aged from 20 to 80 by using a stratified cluster sampling method from Tianshan area in Urumqi of Xinjiang as research objects from September to December 2015.The epidemiological survery form was distributed to the subjects.To survey the general condition?history of thyroid disease and family history?diet and living habits.To check and measure the height?weight?blood pressure?waist circumference and calculate body mass index(BMI).To collect the fasting venous blood and morning urine,and to measure the blood glucose?glycosylated hemoglobin ?blood lipid?uric acid and urinary iodine.Thyroid ultrasonography was applied to make a definite diagnosis of thyroid nodules.Univariate and multivariate Logistic regression were used to analyze the influencing factors of thyroid nodule.Results:1268 people had completed the survey among the included 1500 subjects.The actual investigation rate was 84.53%.The prevalence rate among Uyghur Nationality in Tianshan area of thyroid nodules was 27.21%(345/1268),20.49%(118/576)for men and 32.80%(227/692)for women.The prevalence rate of women was higher than that of men(X2=24.080,P<0.01).The prevalence rate of person aged from 18 to 29?30 to 39?40 to 49?50 to 59 and 60 to 80 was 14.55%(55/378)?16.07%(45/280)?29.93%(88/294)?45.15%(93/206)and 58.18%(64/110)respectively,it can be seen that the prevalence rate of thyroid nodules gradually increased with age(Xtrend2=126.591,P<0.01).Univariate Logistic regression analysis showed that gender?age?smoking history?habit of mild salt intake?BMI from 24.0 to 27.9kg/m2 and greater than or equal to 28.0kg/m2?waist circumference?fasting blood glucose?OGTT-2h blood glucose ? glycosylated hemoglobin ? systolic blood pressure,? diastolic blood pressure?TG?TC?LDL?TSH greater than 4.20mU/L?TGAb?TPOAb?diabetes?hypertension?hyperlipidemia?hypothyroidism and goiter were the influencing factors of thyroid nodules(P<0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that age?gender and systolic blood pressure were the independent risk factors of thyroid nodules(P<0.05).Conclusion:As the prevalence rate in Tianshan area of Urumqi in Xinjiang of thyroid nodules among Uyghur Nationality is relatively high,and there are many risk factors of this disease,we should achieve early prevention?diagnosis and treatment.
