Correlation Analysis Among Islet Function Condition And Body Fat Distribution And Other Factors In Uighur Males In Erdaoqiao Area Urumqi

Objective: To investigate the correlation between islet function condition and body fat distribution and other related factors of islet function condition.Methods: A cross-sectional survey with multiple stage stratified cluster and random sampling was performed.All residents were invited to participate in this survey.Their questionnaire,anthropometric parameters,laboratory indices and the results of oral glucose tolerance test were collected.Body fat distribution was measured with bioelectrical impedance analysis.Results: The values of body mass index(BMI),waist-to-hip ratio(WHR)and visceral fat area were different in different metabolic status(P<0.05).According to the distribution of body fat components,the males were grouped respectively.And the homeostatic model assessment-insulin resistance(HOMA-IR)was different(P<0.05).Linear correlation showed the values of visceral fat area,percentage of body fat,BMI,WHR,triglyceride(TG),plasma glucose and blood pressure were positively correlated with HOMA-IR(P<0.05),while the values of low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),testosterone(T),Sex hormone binding globulin(SHBG)and vitamin D were negatively with HOMA-IR(P<0.05).The values of plasma glucose and TG were negatively with the homeostatic model assessment-islet beta cell function(HOMA-?)were negatively with HOMA-?(P<0.05).After multiple stepwise regression analysis,the main influencing factors of lnHOMA-? were fasting plasma glucose(FPG),visceral fat area and metabolic status.The main influencing factors of lnHOMA-IR were FPG,visceral fat area,WHR,waist circumstance,SHBG,BMI and T.Conclusion: Both general obesity and central obesity were the risk of insulin resistance.Plasma glucose and visceral fat area are the main influencing factors of insulin resistance and islet beta cellfunction.SHBG and T maybe the predictor of insulin resistance.
