| Objectives:The study was aimed to investigate the current status of workplace bullying and professional identity of the junior nurses,explore the correlation between workplace bullying and professional identity,find influencing factors of professional identity,put forward measures to improve the status of professional identity,and help junior nurses go through early stages of career more smoothly.The conclusions of the study would provide reference for domestic researchers.Methods:We had a survey of 280 junior nurses in 3 third-level A-rate hospitals in Changchun during July to October 2016.The research subjects were extracted by convenience sampling methods.The questionnaires included three parts,they were General Information Questionnaire,Chinese Version of the Negative Acts Questionnaire,and Nursing Professional Identity Scale.We established the database and input data with the Epidata3.0,and analyzed the data with SPSS 22.0.The analysis methods were descriptive statistics,t-text,one-factor analysis of variance,nonparametric test,Spearman correlation analysis and multiple linear stepwise regression analysis.Results:1.The scores of workplace bullying of the junior nurses ranged from 22 to 69,the average score was(31.70±9.53).The score sorting of three sub-factors from high to low were organizational injustice(1.82±0.79),work-related bullying(1.36±0.41),and person-related bullying(1.35±0.40).The rate of nurses who suffered from workplace bullying was 53.2%.2.The differences of workplace bullying scores in marital status,employment form,age and occupation reselection had statistical significance(P(27)0.05).3.The scores of professional identity of junior nurses ranged from 74 to 145,thetotal average score was(106.53±15.89),the score sorting of five sub-factors from high to low were professional self-reflection(3.81±0.64),professional social support(3.78±0.53),professional setback coping dimensions(3.70±0.56),professional networking skills dimension(3.35±0.58)and career cognitive(3.34±0.70).65.1%junior nurses’ professional identity level was in the medium level,19.1% was in the high level,and 15.7% was in the low level.4.The differences of professional identity scores in age,marital status,employment form,monthly income,age and occupation reselection had statistical significance(P(27)0.05).5.Correlation analysis revealed that workplace bullying and the three sub-factors had negative correlation with professional identity(P(27)0.01,r=-0.455).The results of multiple linear stepwise regression analysis showed that workplace bullying,occupation reselection,nature of employment and age influenced nurses’ professional identity,the four factors could explain 29.6% of the total variation.Conclusions:1.The rate of workplace bullying among junior nurses is high.marital status,nature of employment,age and occupation reselection in general demographic information influence junior nurses’ perception on workplace bullying.2.Junior nurses’ professional identity is in the medium level,age.marital status,nature of employment,income,age,occupation reselection in general demographic information influence junior nurses’ professional identity.3.Negative correlation has been found between workplace bullying and professional identity.To some extent,workplace bullying has some negative effect on junior nurses’ professional identity.4.Workplace bullying,occupation reselection,nature of employment and age are the main factors affecting the professional identity of junior nurses. |
