Background:Hylomecon japonica(Thunb.)Prantl et Kündig,a perennial short-lived plant in early spring,belongs to Hylomecon genera.It is distributed in forests at an altitude of 300-1800(2400)meters or sand in many regions such as Jilin,Zhejiang and other provinces of China and other countries such as Korea,Japan and Siberia.It is a sciophilous plant,growing in humus soil.The rhizomes of this plant have been used for the treatment of dispelling wind and eliminating dampness,relaxing muscles and tendons,diminis hing swel ing,hemostasis and analgesic.Together with other Chinese traditional medicines,it can be used to treat wind-cold-dampness arthralgia,rheumatic joint pains,bruises,over exertion,fatigue,gastritis,dysentery and so on.Objective:Based on the previous reports,there were few studies on the chemical constitutes on the Hylomecon genus and Hylomecon japonica(Thunb.)Prantl et Kündig.Only several alkaloids,flavonoids and terpenoids were isolated.Prior research on its pharmacolo gy has shown that it has activities of anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory.The paper makes a systematic research on the flavonoids and phenols aimed to develop to make use of it,and to lay the foundation of modernization of traditional Chinese medicine.Methods:The dried plants were percolated with 70%Et OH for seven days and repeated four times.The extraction was concentrated to remove Et OH.Dry it then dissolve in water.Filtrate to remove insoluble contaminants and chromatograph the liquid on D101 column.Followed by elution with 0%,10%,30%,50%,70%,95% ethanol,collect 30% Et OH eluate,then subject it onto silica gel column and get four fractions as A,B,C,D.Five monomer compounds were isolated by macroporous resin column chromatography,silica gel column chromatography and HPLC semi-preparation.Results:With the above methods,the four phenols and one monoterpene were isolated from Hylomecon japonica(Thunb.)Prantl et Kündig,and the structures were identified.I:diosmetin7-O-?-D-xylopyranosyl-(1?6)-?-D-glucopyranosideII:benzyl-?-L-arabinopyranosyl-(1?6)-?-D-glucopyranosideIII:benzyl-?-D-xylopyranosyl-(1?6)-?-D-glucopyranosideIV:2-phenylethyl-?-L-arabinopyranosyl-(1?6)-?-D-glucopyranosideV:3-oxyl-6-hydroxyl-ionone Conclusion:Comp.V is first isolated from Hylomecon,Comp.??????? are all first isolated from Hylomecon japonica(Thunb.)Prantl et Kündig.
