ObjectiveTo compare the shaping and cutting capabilities of three kinds of nickel-titanium instruments in resin simulated root canals.,and to provide the reference for their clinical application.MethodsA total of 30 simulated resin blocks were divided randomly into three groups.Each group was prepared with Reciproc,One file and Wave One.The preparation time and reduction in weight after preparation were measured.Preand post-operative images were obtained with a scanner.The changes in canal curvature and the difference of material removal from the inner and outer canal walls at 10 points beginning at 1 mm from the end point of the canal were measured through Photoshop and Image Pro-plus.Centering capability was determined accordingly.Datas were analyzed through one-way ANOVA,at a significance level of P<0.05.ResultsThe preparation time in Wave One group was longer than other two groups respectively(P<0.05).The reduction in weight after preparation had no significantly difference(P>0.05).The changes of canal curvature among the three groups were not significantly different(P>0.05).At the 5mm points,the centering capabilities in Reciproc and One file group were significantly better than Wave One group(P<0.05),the changes in One file group were significantly less than other two groups at the 6 and 7mm points(P<0.05).ConclusionsWave One,Reciproc,and One file can complete preparation fast,moreover Reciproc and One file do faster than Wave One.Wave One,Reciproc,and One file can maintain the original canal curvature,meanwhile One file exhibits superior centering capability in the middle part of the canal.
