Objective:Based on the analysis of epidemiological characteristics such as season, population and regional distribution of foodborne diseases in Jilin Province and the analysis of the results of pathogen surveillance of foodborne diseases, this study further explored and analyzed the outbreak of suspected foodborne disease in monitoring cases, which will improve the early identification, early warning and prevention and control ability of foodborne disease outbreaks, and provide the theoretical basis for the strategies of foodborne disease prevention and control. Methods:The study subjects were from foodborne disease monitoring report system between 2014 and 2015 in Jilin Province. We collected the basic information, symptom information, suspicious exposure history of the cases, and specific pathogens detection result information(including Salmonella,Shigella,Escherichia coli,Vibrio parahaemolyticus,Norovirus)in the patient’s stool samples. This study uses Access 2010 to integrate data and Excel 2010 establish the database and screened the data, using SPSS16.0 software for statistical analysis including the application of c2 test and Fisher exact rate method for the rate of comparison. All statistical tests were two-tailed and the threshold for statistical significance was set at <0.05.Results:1.A total of 8756 cases of foodborne disease,4926 cases are male, accounting for 56.26%.There are more patients under 5 years of age, accounting for 38.85%.2.The incidence of foodborne diseases in Jilin province was mainly concentrated in the third quarter and it had 3512 cases(40.11%),followed by 2272(25.95%)in the fourth quarter. The region of distribution was mainly in Changchun City, accounting for 21.43%,followed by Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, accounting for 15.61%.3.Between 2014 and 2015,suspicious food for foodborne disease surveillance cases was mainly plant food and the largest number of people caused by consumption of fruits, accounting for 17.82%,followed by vegetables, accounting for 12.78%.Cereals and its products accounted for 12.18%.4.A total of 33991 fecal samples of foodborne disease patients were detected.703 pathogens were positive and the positive detection rate was 2.07%.The highest detection rate pathogen was Norovirus(16.10%),followed by Salmonella(2.69%),Escherichia coli(1.73%),Shigella(0.09%),Vibrio(0.08%).5.The positive detection of Salmonella were mainly in June to August, the positive detection rates were 5.76%,5.26% and 3.52%,respectively.The diarrheal Escherichia coli was mainly concentrated in July to September, which were 2.40%,2.59% and 2.37%,respectively.Shigella detected positive strains only in August and September, and the positive detection rate was 0.50% and 0.09%.Vibrio parahaemolyticus detected positive strains only in July and August, and the detection rate was 0.22% and 0.34%.The positive rate of Norovirus was mainly in January to May and December and the positive detection rates for each month were 29.74%,35.11%,26.14%,23.64%,21.34% and 17.27%,respectively.6.The difference in the positive detection rate of Shigella with different sex patients was significant(P = 0.048)and female positive detection rate higher than male. There were no statistically significant differences in the positive detection rates of Salmonella,Escherichia coli,Vibrio parahaemolyticus and Norovirus with different sex.7.The positive detection rate of Salmonella in different age groups was significantly different(P=0.003),and the highest positive detection rate(3.34%)was in the group of under the 5 years old.The positive detection rate difference of Escherichia coli,Shigella,Vibrio parahaemolyticus,Norovirus in different age groups were not statistically significant.8.The Norovirus detection rate of algae and its products, candy and its products, beans and soy products in the plant suspicious food is high; The Norovirus detection rate of egg and egg products, milk and dairy products in animal suspicious food is high; The Norovirus detection rate of mixed food,a variety of food and beverage and frozen drinks in other food health food is high.9.There were 164 suspected outbreaks cases of foodborne diseases. The number of patients was 444.It was mainly concentrated in August to October, and the highest number of outbreaks occurred in the family. There were 107 cases, accounting for 65.24% of all suspected outbreaks. The number of patients was 242 people, accounting for 54.50% of the total patients;followed by hotels,a total of 28 cases, accounting for 17.07% of the annual outbreak of suspected incidents. And 99 people suffered from these cases, accounting for 22.30%.10.The mainly food of causing suspected food-borne disease outbreaks was plant foods. There were a total of 100 cases and 278 people suffered. There were 35 cases were caused by fungi and their products, involving 89 people suffered. The consumption of vegetables and their products caused 31 cases, involving the incidence of 105 people. The consumption of cereals and their products caused 23 cases, involving the incidence of 57 people.Due to consumption of other food caused 38 cases, involving a total of 108 people suffered. There were 20 cases caused by mixed food, involving the incidence of 41 people and 9 cases caused by a variety of food, involving the incidence of 37 people.Due to consumption of animal food caused 26 cases, involving a total of 58 people, including 13 cases caused by meat and meat products, involving the incidence of 28 people;and 6 cases caused by aquatic animals and their products, involving 14 people;and 5cases caused by milk and dairy products, involving 11 people.Conclusion:1.The incidence of foodborne diseases in Jilin province between 2014 and 2015 showed a significant seasonal trend and the third quarter of the incidence rate was higher than other quarters.Males were more than females.2.The surveillance cases were mainly in Changchun City, followed by Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture. The incidents of children and infants were higher.3.The highest detection rate pathogen was Norovirus, followed by Salmonella. The higher detection rate of Norovirus was in sping and winter.4.The prevalence of Shigella in females with foodborne disease was significantly higher than males. There were significant differences in the positive detection rate of Salmonella in different age groups, and the highest positive detection rate was found in the age group under 5years old.5.Suspected food-borne diseases outbreaks are mainly concentrated in the summer and autumn season;most occurred in the family and hotels;mainly caused by plant foods, especially fungi and their products, vegetables and their products, cereals and their products.
