Objective:To summarize and analyze the epidemiological characteristics of intracranial meningiomas, the characteristics of postoperative complications and the factors leading to postoperative complications, for the clinical study and treatment of intracranial meningioma to help. Methods:According to WHO 2016 classification standards of tumors of the central nervous system into the case.Retrospectively analyzed from January 2012 to December 2016,Zhengzhou University First Affiliated Hospital of neurosurgical treatment, pathological diagnosis of intracranial meningioma cases of 2384 cases. The epidemiological characteristics of the patients were analyzed by sex, age, regional distribution, clinical manifestation, tumor location, tumor size, degree of surgical resection, pathological type and postoperative complications.Comparison between the two groups of qualitative data using chi-square test, the use of multivariate logistic regression analysis led to postoperative complications related factors. And then combined with clinical and related literature to summarize the epidemiological characteristics of intracranial meningioma and treatment experience. Results:The ratio of male to female in 2384 cases of intracranial meningioma was 1: 2.48,and the number of female cases in all age groups was higher than that in male. The youngest patient was 7 years old and had a maximum age of 88 years(mean 52.9 ± 12.2 years). The group of 50 to 59 years old had the largest number of patients. In Henan Province, the largest distribution of patients in southern Henan region(26.1%).The most common site of the tumor was the brain sickle and sagittal sinus(25.3%).The most common clinical manifestation was headache dizziness.Simpson I grade / Simpson ? grade excision as the standard, the highest resection of the tumor site for the brain convex surface(91.9%).In pathological grade,1925(80.7%)belonged to WHO I grade meningioma,420 cases(17.6%)belonged to WHO ? grade,39 cases(1.6%)belonged to WHO ? grade. The most common neurological complications were intracranial hemorrhage(9.1%).Patients with age ?60 years, preoperative KPS ? 70 points, tumor diameter ? 7cm,the tumor is located in the saddle area or other rare parts(cavernous sinus, optic nerve sheath,Occipital large hole area and jugular vein hole area, etc.),Simpson ? grade,Simpson ? grade and Simpson ? grade resection as the independent risk factors for postoperative complications. The risk of postoperative complications increased with the degree of surgical resection and increased at age ?60 years with age. Conclusion:Intracranial meningioma has its epidemiology and clinical features: high incidence of women, the incidence of the peak in advance, more patients are from the southern Henan region, the brain sickle and sagittal sinus have the highest incidence, the most common symptoms as headache and dizziness, the most common postoperative neurological complications for intracranial hemorrhage and so on.Patients with age ?60 years, preoperative KPS ? 70 points, tumor diameter ? 7cm,the tumor is located in the saddle area or other rare parts(cavernous sinus, optic nerve sheath,Occipital large hole area and jugular vein hole area, etc.),Simpson ? grade,Simpson ? grade and Simpson ? grade resection as the independent risk factors for postoperative complications. The risk of postoperative complications increased with the degree of surgical resection and increased at age ?60 years with age.The treatment of meningioma should have a reasonable assessment of preoperative patients,to avoid these postoperative complications of risk factors.Postoperative complications should be closely observed or symptomatic treatment according to the situation.
