Objective The purpose of this study is to investigate the expression and clinical significance of SALL4 and Bmi-1 in human cervical carcinoma.Methods The pathological specimens were selected in a hospital of department of gynecology patients from September 2014 to September 2016 with cervical carcinoma,cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN)patients,healthy cervical tissues.30 patients were cervical carcinoma(Of them 22 cases were squamous cell carcinoma,8 cases were adenocarcinoma),and patients aged 25 to 69 years,the median age is 45years;60 cases were cervical intraepithelial neoplasias(30 cases of low-level CIN and 30 high-level cervical intraepithelial neoplasias),and the age of them ranged from 22 to 68 years,with an average age of 46 years.At the same time,30 cases of normal cervical tissue with cervical biopsy punched under the instruction of colposcopy,and their ages ranged from 22 to 68 years,with a median age of 46 years.All specimens were confirmed by pathology and surgery,and no radiotherapy,chemotherapy or hormone therapy before operation.The expression of SALL4 and Bmi-1 in different tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry.All the data was analyzed by statistical software SPSS19.0,and the difference was significant(P<0.05).Results The expression of SALL4 protein in the normal cervical tissue,low-level CIN,high-level CIN and cervical carcinoma tissues was10.00%,36.67%,63.33%,86.67%(P<0.05).The expression of SALL4 in cervical carcinoma was significantly higher than other three types of tissues(P<0.05).The expression of SALL4 in high-level CIN was higher than low-level CIN tissues(P<0.05).And the expression level of SALL4 in the normal cervical tissue was the lowest among the 4 tissues(P<0.05).The tissue levels of Bmi-1 protein expression in the the normal cervical group,low-level CIN group,high-level CIN group and cervical carcinoma group were6.67%,23.33%,46.67% and 73.33%(P<0.05).The expression of Bmi-1 in cervical carcinoma was significantly higher than other three types of tissues(P<0.05).The expression of Bmi-1 in high-level CIN was higher than low-level CIN tissues(P<0.05).And the expression level of Bmi-1 in the normal cervical tissue was the lowest among the 4 tissues(P<0.05).Using SPSS19.0 statistical software for SALL4 Pearson correlation with Bmi-1 test,positively correlated(r = 0.798,P< 0.01)The relation between SALL4,Bmi-1 and cervical cancer clinical pathological features:SALL4,Bmi-1 protein expression levels has much to do with lymphatic metastasis(t=1.907,p<0.05),histological grade(t=0.993,p<0.05),and clinical stages(t=1.080,p<0.05),with nothing to do age(t=1.436,p>0.05),tumor size(t=1.286,p>0.05).SALL4,Bmi-1 protein,the positive expression which of SALL4 and Bmi-1in 40 to 59 is highest,but it has no statistical meaning.The higher the chinical stage,the higher SALL4 and Bmi-1protein expression level.SALL4,Bmi-1 protein expression with lymphatic metastasis is evident higher than these without lymphatic metastasis of cervical cander tissues.Conclusions?The expression of SALL4 and Bmi-1 in cervical carcinoma tissues is significantly higher than other three types of tissue,and CIN tissues is higher than normal cervical tissues,the expression of SALL4 and Bmi-1 is closely relevant with the occurrence and development of cervical carcinoma.?The study found correlation between SALL4 and Bmi-1,suggesting that they have a synergistic effect in the evolution of cervical carcinoma.
