Clinical Analysis Of Curative Effect With Zinc Gluconate For Traumatic Granuloma After Vocal Cord Surgery

Objective:To investigate the feasibility and efficiency of zinc gluconate in the treatment of laryngeal traumatic granulomatosis by administering zinc gluconate to patients with laryngeal traumatic granulomas after the vocal cord surgery.Methods:Retrospective analysis of 62 patients with traumatic granuloma after vocal cord surgery in hospital from January 2013 to December 2015 was carried out.These patients were divided into several groups.The first group included 40 patients with oral zinc gluconate(meanwhile,they were devided into two groups according to granuloma degree,group A including 22 cases and group B including 18 cases)named drugs group.The duration of treatment was 6 months,and the follow-up time was 1 year.The second group included 12 patients who had weren't offered any treatment as the blank control group.Their follow-up time was 1 year too.At the same time,10 patients who were willing to undergo surgical treatment were enrolled in the operation group.the operation was performed with endoscopic laryngoscope.the patients were given atomization for 1 week and vocal cord resting for 2 weeks.All patients with negative throat reflux who had lesions occurred in the vocal cords,and all the cases were diagnosed at the first time.There weren't any intervention treatment before the definite diagnosis.Results:Among the 40 cases which belonged to the drug group,34 were cured,4 were effective,2 were ineffective.The cure rate was 85%.In the blank control group,2 were cured,1 was effective,9 was ineffective,the cure rate was 16.67%;Among the 10 patients in the operation group,4 were cured,3 were effective,3 were ineffective,the cure rate was 40%;The difference of cure rate between drug group group and blank control group had statistically significance,and the difference between drug group group and the operation group had statistically significance.Then analyze the 40 cases of drug group.In group A,22 cases were cured,18 cases were cured,3 cases were effective,1 case was invalid,the cure rate was 81.82%.In group B,18 cases were cured,16 cases were cured,1 case was cured,the cure rate was 88.89%.There was no significant difference in the cure rate between the two groups.In the follow-up period,there was no recurrence of drug group patients,6 cases of recurrence in the operation group,the difference of recurrence rate between the drug group and the operation group was statistically significant,Conclusion:It is effective to take zinc gluconate orally on treating traumatic granuloma after vocal cord surgery.And the cure rate of it is not related to the size of granuloma.Compared with the surgical treatment,Zinc gluconate treatment of traumatic granuloma after vocal cord surgery is a more effective,affordable and safer treatment which is more accepted by patients.It is worthy of clinical application.
