Objective: To explore the effect of orthodontic treatment and implant dentures after orthodontic treatment.Orthodontic treatment can cause rapid absorption of alveolar bone, whether it will affect the teeth of the alveolar bone, causing dental implant failure.Method: Selecting 10 patients who had missing teeth and needed orthodontic treatment and two of patients should be implanted. We assume that patients are in excellent condition and they don't have any disease or medical allergie.Patients were 25 to 58 years old.The average age of the patients is 36 years old. Before and after orthodontic treatments, all the patients need to take X-ray.The implant system was used Osstem and Straumann First,an orthodontic treatment,we have to correct tilt and adjacent teeth and expand teeth gap.We need to measure bone height and bone density at the missing teeth with CBCT and correct the long axis of the tilt angle. Before the implant treatments and after a week for the orthodontic treatment. We need to measure bone height and bone density at the missing teeth with CBCT for the second times. And assess the effects of orthodontic treatment and whether to implant surgery or not. After the implant implantation,we have to wait 3~6 months for implant-bone integrity of the line tocomplete restoration and wearing into.We also need to take X-ray for the third times and measure bone height and bone density at the missing teeth and observe changes. Results: After orthodontic treatment for 6 months to 25 months(mean 9.9 months),all adjacent tilted teeth were righted and corrected with angle difference(P <0.05)and obtained an ideal gap with teeth. There was no significant change in bone height and BMD between the two groups. When finish an orthodontic work,we adopt dental implant immediately. We found that it can obtain the ideal and steady osseous integration. There was no significant difference in bone re-sorption,bone height and bone mineral density between the two groups. There were two patients who didn't install the gap maintainer, and the incisal angle was 2o and 4o,but it did not affect the implant implantation and post-repair.Six months after repair review, all the orthodontic adjacent teeth did not appear mucosal inflammation, bone re-sorption and loose teeth.Restorative occlusion are good, patients chew food without any influence and looks good. Conclusion: Bone mineral density decreased slightly after orthodontic treatment.Finishing the orthodontic treatments, the alveolar bone conditions do not affect the follow-up of planting treatment. This method saves the overall treatment time and required to improve the repair of implant denture. For orthodontic and implanted patients, orthodontic treatment should be given priority.Implant therapy is the ideal treatment after removal of the appliance.
