Objective:We collected the periapical X-ray film of 318 clinical patients with apical periodontitis.Read the X-ray film and then made a statistics of them.To estimate the distribution law of prevalence of teeth with apical periodontitis, relationship of periapical bone lesions in connection with position of teeth and sex, relationship of the pevalence of root canal treatment of teeth in connection with position of teeth and gender,to compare and analyze periacal periodontitis epidemiology of the region in 2014 and 2016,and to rich the epidemiological data in population with apical periodontitis dso povide strong scientific basis fir he oral health.Method:Collection of periapical X-ray films of 318 patients of first diagnosed with apical periodontitis in Stomatological Hospital Affiliated Dalian Medical University in 2016.Reading X-ray film,to evaluate the periapical bone lesions and prevalence of root canal therapy of apical periodontitis teeth according to X-ray imaging results.Periapical bone lesions is estivated with periapical index(PAI)as the standard for grading.Analysis the data statistically.Compare the statistical results with 2014 Report on Clinic Patients with Periapical Periodontitis Epidemiological Survey of Affiliated Stomatological Hospital of Dalian Medical University. Results:There were 318 patients with AP with newly diagnosed and 370 teeth of AP in this study.Distribution law of apical periodontitis teeth:the first molar teeth of mandibular were the highest, molar teeth were higher than premolar an d anterior teeth, maxillary anterior teeth and premolar teeth were higher than ma ndibular teeth of anterior teeth and premolar teeth. There was no significant diffe rence in the hospitalizing rate of AP between male(45.60%)and female(54.40%)(P>0.05).Periapical bone lesion severity of treated teeth and untreated teeth:PAI=1,treated teeth(38.0%),untreated teeth(18.8%);PAI=2,treated teeth(29.1%),untre ated teeth(17.3%);PAI=3,treated teeth(20.3%),untreated teeth(19.5%);PAI=4,treated teeth(6.3%),untreated teeth(18.8%);PAI=5,treated teeth(6.3%),untreated teeth(25.6%).Periapical bone lesion severity of different tooth position:PAI=1,anterior te eth(25%),premolar(30.7%),molar(34.9%);PAI=2,anterior teeth(25%),premolar(33.7%),molar(20.1%);PAI=3,anterior teeth(22%),premolar(17.8%),molar(20.1%);P AI=4,anterior teeth(8%),premolar(6.9%).molar(14.2%);PAI=5,anterior teeth(20%),p remolar(10.9%),molar(10.7%).Correlation of periapical bone lesion severity and tooth position:PAI2,premolar more than molar;PAI4,molar more than premol ar;PAI5,anterior teeth more than molar(P<0.05).Periapical bone lesion severit y of different sex:PAI=1,female9(33.7%),male(27.9%);PAI=2,female(27.3%),ma le(22.4%);PAI=3,female(17.1%),male(23.6%);PAI=4,female(8.2%),male(13.4%);PAI=5,female(13.7%),male(12.7%).There was no significant difference between prevalence of periapical bone lesion severity in male and female(P>0.05).Ther e was no significant difference of prevalence of AP among anterior teeth(66.00%),premolar(69.31%),and molar(60.36%).The percentage of root canal treatme nt in male(61.82%)and female(66.34%),this study indicated that there is no s ignificant difference with gender in connection with the rate of root canal therap y(P =0.367>0.05).In PAI5,the percentage of untreated teeth in 2014(9.3%)is s ignificantly lower than 2016(25.6%)(P<0.05).In PAI5,the percentage of anterior teeth, premolar and molar in 2016 is higher than 2014(P<0.05).In PAI3,the pe rcentage of female patients' teeth in 2016 is higher than 2014.So is PAI 5.The percentage of root canal treatment of anterior teeth, premolar and molar in 2014 is higher than 2016(P<0.05).The percentage of root canal treatment of male a nd female in 2014 is higher than 2016(P<0.05).There is no significant differen ce of gender composition between 2014 and 2016.Conclusion:This epidemiological investigation of periapical periodontitis indicates that,in Stomatological Hospital Affiliated Dalian Medical University distribution of teeth with periapical periodontitis:the prevalence of AP in molar teeth is higher than premolar and anterior teeth. The first molar mandibular is the most, maxillary anterior teeth and premolar teeth are higher than mandibular teeth of the name of multiple. There is no significant difference of gender composition between 2014 and 2016.Periapical bone lesions in teeth without endodontically treatment is more serious than teeth with endodontically treatment. There was an decrease in the percentage of endodontically treated teeth with apical periodontitis with increasing PAI level.root canal therapy, periapical lesions was improving. There is no statistically significant difference in the percentage of endodontically treated teeth among anterior teeth, premolar teeth and molar teeth. There was no statistically significant difference with gender in connection with periapical bone lesion severity. There is no significant difference with gender in connection with the rate of root canal therapy. In PAI5,the percentage of untreated teeth in 2014 is significantly lower than 2016.The percentage of root canal treatment of anterior teeth, premolar and molar in 2014 is higher than 2016.Patients of severe periapical lesion show are more willing to seeing doctors. The percentage of root canal treatment of anterior teeth, premolar and molar in 2014 is higher than 2016.The percentage of root canal treatment of male and female in 2014 is higher than 2016.
