Abstract/Summary:
Objective:To explore the function of music therapy(Mozart music and five-element music)on premature infants’ brain electrical activity and behavioral nervous development. Methods:By using foresight randomized controlled trial, the premature infants hospitalized in Nanhai Women’ s and Children’ s Hospital Affiliated to Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine during February 2016-January 2017 at gestational age of 34-36 weeks without nervous system disease were incorporated for research. After sample size estimation and random allocation,90 cases were selected as subjects and divided into Mozart music group,five-element music group and blank control group with 30 cases in each.Applied 10-minute music therapy twice a day to Mozart music group and five-element music group since 3 days after birth, controlled the volume within 40dB;the music material for Mozart music group was Mozart piano sonata and five-element music group was Yuyin;blank control group did not receive any music therapy. The difference of primitive EEG power spectral before and during music therapy was compared. The difference of background activity continuity, amplitude lower boundary and bandwidth of aEEG 3 and 14 days after birth was compared. The difference of NBNA 3 and 14 days after birth was compared.Rendered automated auditory brainstem response test to subjects before being selected into group and discharge so as to analyze the safety of music therapy.Results:1.Compared with that before music therapy,EEG powerspectral during music therapy changed obviously, among which Mozart music group mainly featured increase of a(P<0.05)and β(P<0.05)frequency bands;five-element music group mainly featured increase of 0 frequency band(P<0.05).2.14 days after birth, the lower boundaries of aEEG in both Mozart music group(P<0.05)and five-element music group(P<0.01)were all higher than that of blank control group;the aEEG bandwidths in both Mozart music group(P<0.05)and five-element music group(P<0.01)were all narrower than that of blank control group.3.14 days after birth, the NBNA total points in both Mozart music group(P<0.01)and five-element music group(P<0.05)were all higher than that of blank control group;the NBNA hearing directive force increased points in both Mozart music group and five-element music group were all higher than that of blank control group(P<0.01).4.No adverse effect was found in the subjects of Mozart music group and five-element music group during music therapy. No abnormity was found when applying automated auditory brainstem response again before discharging.Conclusion:1.The process of music therapy may cause the change of premature infants’ EEG power spectral.2.Music therapy can promote the mature of premature infants’ aEEG background activity.3.Music therapy can improve premature infants’ behavioral nervous development.4.Music therapy is safe and reliable.
