Abstract/Summary:
ObjectiveFirst,To analyze the distribution characteristics of patient’ s TCM syndrome, and further for the interventional treatment of patients to provide guide in the treatment of Chinese-medicineSecond,To evaluate the feasibility, safety, and efficacy of Carotid Stenting(CAS)for the treatment of the extrocranial carotid stenosis, and also summarize indications, prevention and treatment about surgical related complications with the thrapy of CAS in different patients.MethodsWe retrospectively reviewed the clinical data from 121 sides lesion(117 patients)who underwent CAS therapy for extracranial carotid stenosis at our department between January 1,2010 and December 31,2015.These clinical data include the patients of baseline data, lesion characteristics, treatment results, periprocedural complications and results of clinical and imaging follow-up,and the related of TCM syndrome during hospitalization.ResultsThe technical success rate was 100.0%.The stenosis degree was reduced from 80%(range:50-99%)to 10%(Range:0-30%)after the stent placement. The incidence of stroke and death was 5.8%(7/121)in the 30-day periprocedural period, with no death and hemorrhagic stroke occurred during perioperative.Statistical analysis showed that there was a significant difference whether or not to use EPD,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).The incidence of recurrent ischemic events related to the territory artery was 0%during a mean clinical follow-up period of 22.5 months(range:3-83months).Five cases(5.8%)developed in-stent restenosis during a mean imaging follow-up period of 22.5 months(range:3-83 months).A total of 9 kinds of syndrome, the three kinds of the most were "wind phlegm and blood stasis, stagnation of context","Qi deficiency and phlegm and blood stasis in collaterals","wind phlegm disturbance of blood stasis"in 117 patients inpatient. The composition of "wind phlegm and blood stasis, stagnation of context" was the highest in symptomatic carotid artery stenosis, reaching 56.6%,and "wind phlegm disturbance of blood stasis" was the highest in asymptomatic carotid artery stenosis, accounting for 34.1%.The distribution difference was statistically significant.ConclusionThe results of study showed that treatment of CAS is safe, feasible and effective. The using of EPD can reduced the incidence of ischemic events.Exsisting narrow lesions in intracranial and extracranial,it is recommended to formulate individual programs to reduce the incidence of postoperative complications.
