Objective:Gastric cancer(GC)is an important health problem, being the fourth most common cancer and the second leading cause of cancer death worldwide.Adequate surgical resection is the only curative therapeutic option for gastric cancer.in order to more accurately predict the prognosis or pathological diagnosis, more precise bio-marks are required.CD147/EMMPRIN,a cell surface glycoprotein that belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily,by stimulating tumor stromal cells to produce matrix metalloproteinases(MMPs)and degrading basement membrane and stroma, plays an important role in the metastasis of tumors.Recent studies showed that the CD 147 was closely associated with lymph node metastases, survival rate in gastric cancer. However, controversy still exists.we conducted the meta-analysis aimed at the evidence on prognostic and clinicopathological value of CD 147 expression in GC patients. Methods:We searched MEDLINE,PUBMED,EMBASE,and CNKI databases for relevant articles up to August 2016.The search terms include:Gastric Cancer("Gastric Neoplasm","Gastric Carcinoma","Gastric Cancer","Gastric Tumor"),CD 147("CD 147","EMMPRIN"),Prognosis.Ten published studies with a total of 1819 patients were included. The search was completed on studies conducted on human subjects, without restriction on language and origins. The reference lists of all potential eligible studies were all scanned.Original data included the hazard ratio(HR)of overall survival(OS)and odds ratio(OR)in GC patients.Statistical calculations were all performed using STATA11.0,Revman 5.0 and SPSS 13.0.Heterogeneity was analyzed by calculating the Q test statistics,if P>0.10,the merged data without significant heterogeneity, using fixed effect model or the random effects model analysis. The calculation research and combining the data of the OR value and 95%CI,forest mapping, and the results show the characteristics of the study.OR the natural logarithm of the standard error of the abscissa, the natural logarithm of the OR value for the vertical, funnel plot(Begg's funnel plot)to describe the publication bias, the linear regression model of STATA 10 software(Egger)to test the symmetry of the funnel plot, assessment of publication bias. Results:We combined HR/OR with 95%confidence interval(CI)to estimate the hazard. There is a significant heterogeneity between the studies,we used theRandom effects model. In this study,OS was related to CD147 expression, with the HR1.76(95%CI 1.21-2.57;P=0.005).A significant correlation was also revealed between CD147 expression and stage(?+?,+)(OR0.22,95%CI 0.16-0.30;P<0.0001),depth of invasion(T1/T2,+)(OR 0.33,95%CI 0.23-0.48;P<0.0001),lymph node metastasis(LN-,+)(OR 3.45,95%CI1.83-6.50;P=0.0001).The expression of CD147 and gender(male,female)(OR1.39,95%CI,0.95-2.05;P=0.09),age(<medium,?medium)(OR0.93,95%CI 0.74-1.16;P=0.53),Tumor histological differentiation(differented,+)(OR 0,65,95%CI 0.39-1.07;P= 0.09)have not correlation. No publication bias was observed. Conclusions:In conclusion,CD147 expression is an independent and significantly prognostic factor for GC patients CD 147 offers evidence of lymph node metastasis and vascular invasion in pathological diagnosis of GC.As a prognostic factor,CD147 expression can help us clinical therapy management.
