Objective:Investigate the iodine nutritional status and its correlation with thyroid function and thyroid autoantibodies in Uygur population in urban and rural areas of Xinjiang.Methods : A cross-sectional was performed in 1383 residents of Xinjiang Toksun(Group B)in August 2015,1285 residents were in enrolled.Include 1196 adults,mean age(44.12±15.0),89 children aged 8-10 years.A same sampling method was performed in 2187 residents of Xinjiang Urumqi tianshan Distric(Group A)in October2015,1967 residents were in enrolled.Include 1740 adults,mean age(42.24±15.46),236 adults aged 8-10 years.The daily iodine rich diet and daily salt intake were investigated by means of questionnaire,food model and three day weighing.At the same time collecting edible salt,drinking water and urine and blood samples,determination of water iodine and salt iodine,urinary iodine,thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH)free triiodothyronine(FT3),free thyroxine(FT4),thyroid peroxidase antibody(TPOAb),thyroglobulin antibody(TgAb).Results:(1)The two areas of Uygur residents daily dietary intake of iodine rich foods are less,the rural areas of a city less(?2=7.715,P=0.005),Adult median urinary iodine of group A was 128.78ug/L,the median urinary iodine was 244.27ug/L,Adult median urinary iodine of group B was 171.2ug/L,the median urinary iodine was292.17ug/L,Each age groups have certain degrees of iodine deficiency and iodine excess.(2)The subclinical hypothyroidism and thyroid antibody were the highest prevalence rate in two groups of thyroid disease,The abnormal thyroid function prevalence rate in Iodine excess group was higher than the other three groups.(3)The Gender,age,BMI,urinary iodine were the risk factors of abnormal thyroid function and antibody positive in urban logistic regression.Rural logistic regression showed that thedegree education,hypertension,urinary iodine,smoking were the risk factors of abnormal thyroid function and antibody.Conclusion: The two area of iodized salt implementation were standard,People in iodine deficiency status need to be followed up.Thyroid disease susceptible groups need to be screened annually,controllable risk factors should be actively avoided.
