Abjective:To investigate the correlation between transforming growth factor-?(TGF-?)gene and non-syndromic cleft lip with or without cleft palate in Xinjiang Uygur. Methods:Sixty cases of non-syndromic cleft lip and / or cleft palate of Xinjiang Uygur nationality were selected as case group and 60 healthy people as control group. The peripheral venous blood was collected and the DNA was extracted. The second generation of TGF-500 bp,5 'untranslated region(UTR)and coding region were sequenced for genetic analysis. Results:Two single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)with high mutation frequency(> 5%)were found in rs10198077 and rs2166975.The results of case-control analysis showed that there was no significant difference in allele and genotype frequencies between the two groups(P > 0.05).Conclusion:There is no correlation between TGF-? single nucleotide polymorphisms and nonsyndromic cleft lip and palate in Xinjiang Uygur population.
