Objective: At present the indications and contraindications for unicompartmental knee arthroplasty(UKA)are controversial.Roughly around the knee joint activity, both inside and outside double deformed angles, the lateral compartment for wear, patellofemoral joint is normal, pain degree, age and weight, etc. The purpose of this article is to study if the preoperative knee the width of the medial compartmental can be used as a UKA indication before replacement, and whether the different width will affect after UKA recent curative effect. Methods: A total of 68 patients with knee osteoarthritis, who underwent UKA in the our hospital from November 2014 to March 2016 and obtained follow-up,were enrolled in this study. All the patients had pre-operative weight bearing anteroposterior radiographs of the knee taken in full extension, measured knee medial gap width? To measure the width of 2 mm is bounded, the patients were divided into group A(knee medial gap width 2 mm or less)and group B(knee medial gap width > 2 mm),Knee scores before surgery and in final follow-up were recorded in both groups, including KSS score,OKS score and HSS score were recorded in final follow-up.Results&.Conclusion: Patents with complications were excluded in both groups.Knee scores were significantly higher in final follow-up than in pre-operation significantly difference in knee scores was detected in final follow-up between the two groups). That preoperative knee medial gap width is factors that affect after UKA recent curative effect, the single condyle displacement front knee medial gap width 2 mm or less or the inside clearance exists obvious "bone on bone" is more suitable for UKA.
