Objective:The study aimed to investigate the cluster-needling and mind-regulating acupuncture therapy for the clinical efficacy of painful diabetic polyneuropathy. To explore whether this therapeutic schedule can provide a more reliable and effective treatment by compared with the scheme of Lipoic acid injection and Mecobalamin Tablets. Methods:Totally 70 subjects who met the inclusive criteria about painful diabetic polyneuropathy were randomly divided into the treatment group 35 cases and the control group 35 cases, which were both given the same basic treatment.Besides, the treatment group was treated with the acupuncture once a day, which was composed of scalp-acupuncture that require the prick of a needle to the Baihui point and three needles to the area of emotion and body-acupuncture that applies cluster needing on the painful area. The control group was given the Mecobalamin Tablets oral treatment,0.5mg each time, three times a day and Lipoic acid injection,600mg by intravenous drip, once a day.A total of two courses of the treatment and each treatment had 7 days. Before and after the whole course, all the following of indexes of the subjects need to be observed and recorded:NCV of median nerve and peroneal nerve,Short-Form McGill Pain Questionnaire, ankle brachial pressure index, interference with daily activities and a series of security index about the liver and kidney function, blood and urine routine examination. Results:After two treatment courses, the results were as follows:(1)The velocity of MNCV,SNCV of the median nerve and the common proneal nerve was increased in both groups(p<0.05),but no significant statistical difference between two groups after the treatment(p>0.05).(2)It went an apparent decline in the score of Short-Form McGill Pain Questionnaire(p<0.01),the treatment group getting the better efficacy than the control group yet(p<0.05).(3)The ankle brachial pressure index increased obviously in the treatment group, while it was not happening the similar situation in the control group(p>0.05).The treatment group got better index than the control group after the treatment.(4)The score of IDA of the treatment group was apparently different from before the 2 courses(P<0.01),but the control group had no significant meaning after the treatment. The score of treatment group was lower than the control group after the 2 courses.(5)The total effective rate of the treatment was 84.84%and of control group was 43.33%,a statistically significant difference(P<0.01).(6)Neither obvious side effect of two groups was observed. The liver and kidney function, blood and urine routine examination remained unchanged.Conclusion:(1)The cluster-needling and mind-regulating acupuncture therapy and Lipoic acid injection,Mecobalamin Tablets both achieve the clinical effect.(2)The curative effects are more obvious for the cluster-needling and mind-regulating acupuncture therapy than Lipoic acid injection,Mecobalamin Tablets in treating painful diabetic polyneuropathy.
