Investigation On Health Literacy Of Residents In Liaoning Province In 2014

Objective:In this study,a comprehensive analysis of health literacy survey data of urban and rural residents in Liaoning in 2014 was conducted to understand the level of health literacy of urban and rural residents in Liaoning province and its influencing factors.Through the survey found that the need to strengthen and correct local health literacy work,provide the basis for the future work,and the survey results can provide comparable data for the future of health literacy survey,but also for the government and health administrative departments to develop or adjust to provide the scientific basis for health related policies and measures to promote.Methods:Using stratified cluster sampling method,according to the urban and rural stratification,with population size proportional cluster sampling method(PPS)were randomly selected from 12 counties(city,district),each district(county)monitoring is expected to investigate 270 people,the province's survey of 3240 people.A household survey was conducted using the 2014 Chinese residents' health literacy questionnaire.All stages of the investigation have quality control,the application of Epi Data 3.2database for data entry and verification,the use of SPSS 22 for data collation and analysis.All data were normalized,descriptive analysis of data,measurement data with the SX ±,count data by percentage or proportion.The data were analyzed by t test or ANOVA,and chi square test was used to count the data.With P<0.05 as the statistical value.Through descriptive analysis,complex weighted Logistic regression analysis and other statistical methods,to understand the health literacy level of different characteristics of the current situation and to explore the main factors affecting the health literacy of residents in Liaoning province.Results:1.In 2014,the health literacy level of Liaoning residents was 12%.From the results of this study,we can find that the factors affecting the overall health literacy ofthe residents in Liaoning Province in 2014 are gender and education level.Women's health literacy level is 1.419 times that of men(95%CI 1.062~1.896).With the increase of education level,the level of health literacy gradually increased,college /undergraduate and above are 6.704 times the primary and lower education level(95%CI 4.191~10.726).2.Residents' basic knowledge and concept literacy rate was 15.6%,gender,education level,income level,whether suffering from chronic disease,perceived health status,age is the basic knowledge and the concept of literacy factors.The healthy life style and behavior literacy rate was 11.6%,and its influencing factors included: education level,occupation and nationality.The rate of health skills was17.6%,the urban and rural areas and education level were the influencing factors of health literacy.3.Scientific view of health literacy level of 34.5%,the influence factors for urban and rural areas,education level and family population.Infectious disease prevention literacy was 17.4%,education level,occupation,whether the illness and perceived health status are influencing factors of chronic infectious disease prevention literacy.Chronic disease prevention literacy with a rate of only 6.4%,its influence the factors including urban and rural and cultural level.Safety and first aid literacy rate of49.5%,urban and rural areas,education and family population is a factor affecting safety and first aid literacy.The basic medical literacy rate was 8.7%,and the factors affecting the basic medical literacy include urban and rural,educational level and gender.Health information literacy rate was 17.5%,urban and rural areas,education level,gender and occupation are the factors of health information literacy.Conclusion:1.The health literacy level of Liaoning residents is 12%,higher than the national average(8.8%),compared with the 2012 Liaoning residents health literacy rate(10.5%)increased by 2 percentage points.In the three aspects of health literacy,the highest level is the basic skills(17.6%)in the health literacy rate of the 6 types of health problems,the highest level of safety and first aid literacy,was 49.5%.2.The influencing factors of the overall level of Liaoning residents' health literacy are gender and educational level.When the health promotion work is carried out,it is necessary to focus on the male and the lower level of the population as the key intervention group.3.Influence factors of the three aspects of health literacy of residents in Liaoning province and six types of health literacy level is different,but the common factor is the residents' culture degree.4.Whether to suffer from chronic diseases or conscious health is the influencing factor of residents' basic health knowledge and concept accomplishment.
