Objective:To discuss and compare the curative effect and adverse reactions of lateral puncture at cervical Jiaji(EX-B2)combined with scalp acupuncture and Chinese botulinum toxin type A(CBTX-A)in treatment of spasmodic torticollis(ST)so as to explore more effective therapies for ST.Methods:A total of 66 ST patients accorded with the inclusive criteria were randomly divided into treatment group(33 cases)and control group(33 cases). The treatment group was given lateral puncture at cervical Jiaji(EX-B2)combined with scalp acupuncture and received acupuncture treatment once a day.Made 7 days a treatment course, had one day off after 6-day treatment. And the control group was given treatment with CBTX-A by local intramuscular injection.Have evaluation of both the two groups' muscular tension and mood changes before treatment, the 4th course and the 6th course after treatment by Torticollis Rating Scale of Tsui et al,Toronto Western Spasmodic Torticollis Rating Scale(TWSTRS),Zung's Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS).Result:1.Before treatment, there was no significant difference between the two groups in the Tsui scale, the severity of the TWSTRS scale, the life disorder, the physical pain score, the SAS anxiety self-rating scale and the SDS self-rating scale(P>0.05).2.Comparing the scores of Tsui's Scale of both the two groups before and after treatment:4 courses after treatment, the control group's Tsui's Scale score decreased more remarkably than the treatment group's(P<0.05),significant difference exited.6 courses after treatment, the treatment group's Tsui's Scale score decreased more remarkably than the control group's(P<0.05),significant difference exited.3.Comparing the severity scores of TWSTRS of the two groups before and after treatment:4 courses after treatment, the control group's score decreased more remarkably than the treatment group's(P<0.05),significant difference exited.6 courses after treatment, the treatment group's score decreased more remarkably than the control group's(P<0.05),significant difference exited.4.Comparing the disability scores of TWSTRS of the two groups before and after treatment:4 courses after treatment, the control group's score decreased more remarkably than the treatment group's(P<0.05),significant difference exited.6 courses after treatment, the treatment group's score decreased more remarkably than the control group's(P<0.05),significant difference exited.5.Comparing the pain scores of TWSTRS of the two groups before and after treatment:4 courses and 6 courses after treatment, the treatment group's scores decreased more remarkably than the control group's(P<0.05),significant difference exited.6.Comparing the scores of SAS of the two groups before and after treatment:4 courses and 6 courses after treatment, the treatment group's scores decreased more remarkably than the control group's(P<0.05),significant difference exited.7.Comparing the scores of SDS of the two groups before and after treatment:4 courses and 6 courses after treatment, the treatment group's scores decreased more remarkably than the control group's(P<0.05),significant difference exited.8.The total effect of the two groups:the total effective rate of the treatment and control group were,respectively,86.7%and 77.0%(p<0.05),significant difference exited. It showed the treatment group was significantly better than the control group.9.Safety analysis:the treatment group is safer than the control group.Conclusions:1.Lateral puncture at cervical Jiaji(EX-B2)combined with scalp acupuncture is an effective treatment of ST.2.The continuous effect for long time of lateral puncture at cervical Jiaji(EX-B2)combined with scalp acupuncture is better than treatment with CBTX-A by local intramuscular injection.Patients'life quality has further improvement by using such safe, reliable, effective method. So it can be used as guidance in clinic therapy.3.The improvement of patients' anxiety and depression of lateral puncture at cervical Jiaji(EX-B2)combined with scalp acupuncture is better than treatment with CBTX-A by local intramuscular injection.4.The improvement of patients'pain of lateral puncture at cervical Jiaji(EX-B2)combined with scalp acupuncture is better than treatment with CBTX-A by local intramuscular injection.
