Background and Objective The incidence of esophageal cancer is higher in China. It has been estimated that 478 thousand people will be diagnosedwith esophageal cancer and 375 thousand people will die from esophageal cancerin 2015;the 5 years overall survival rate has been estimated to be16.1%.According to the study on the tumor microenvironment.,Tumor associated inflammatory cells can promote the proliferation, invasion and metastasis of tumor cells. In the course of tumor progression,as the number of tumor cells increases, does the inflammatory cells in the peripheral blood of the organism change accordingly? As deeper research on the action mechanism of neutrophile granulocyte? lymphocyte and mononuclear cells, the relationship between NLR ?LMR?PLR and the prognosis of cancers has gain a lot of attention. In this study, the preoperativeneutrophilsl-lymphocyte ratio ? lymphocyte-monocyte ratio and platelet-lymphocyte ratio of peripheral blood are been choosed to confirm their relationship between the prognosisof esophageal squamous carcinoma.Materials and Methods The treatment time span of 2005.01-2010.12 and all1601 cases were from patients were confirmed by postoperative pathology in our hospital. The ratio of neutrophilsl-lymphocyte ?platelet-lymphocyte ?lymphocyte-monocyte are counted after analyzeted preoperative peripheral blood cells from the patientsprognosised of ESCC.Results 1.The median NLR of 1601 patients is 1.58(0.49-10.51).To set 2.46 as a critical value, all patients were divided into high NLR group(2.46 or higher,288 cases)and low NLR group(<2.46,1313 cases).NLR and early esophageal have correlation. The overall 5 years survival rate of low NLR group's is 47.07%,significantly higher than 19.10% of the high NLR group(P =0.000).2.The median LMR of 1601 patients is 4.37(0.93-13.39).To set 3.88 as a critical value, all patients were divided into nomal LMR group(3.88 or higher,828 cases)and low LMR group(<3.88,773 cases).LMR and early esophagealcarcinomahave correlation.LMR andboth increase team of Cyfra21-1and SCCA have correlation. The overall 5 years survival rate of high LMR group is 57.00%,significantly higher than 26.00%of the low LMR group(P =0.003).3.The median PLR of 1601 patients is 105.2(34.12-498.67).To set 200.26 as a critical value, all patients were divided into high PLR group(200.26 or higher,533 cases)and low PLR group(<200.26,1068 cases).PLR and early esophageal have correlation. The overall 5 years survival rate of low PLR group is42.98%,no significantly higher than 40.15 % of the high PLR group(P =0.167).4.Single factor analysis showed that gender ?age?esophageal stage?tumor markers Cyfra21-1and SCCA? NLR? PLR and LMR are significant correlated with the prognosis of patients(P <0.05).To make the multi-factor Cox regression analysis,we found that gender ?age ?NLR and LMR are the independent prognostic factors affected overall survival rate. Conclusions 1.NLR and LMR can be used as a independent risk factors foresophageal squamous cell carcinomapatient.2.PLR can not be used as a independent risk factor foresophageal squamous cell carcinomapatient.
