Baoshen Tablet For Prevention And Treatment Of Contrast-Induced Nephropathy

Objective.To explore the preventive and therapeutic effects of baoshen tablet in reducing the risk of developing contrast-induced nephropathy(CIN)after coronary angiography(CAG)and(or)percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).Methods.In a randomized controlled trial,80 patients scheduled to undergo elective coronary angiography were randomly allocated to standard western medicine treatment plus baoshen tablet(n = 40)or standard western medicine treatment alone(n = 40).All testing in patients with preoperative and postoperative 24 hours and 72 hours serum cystatin C(Cys-C),serum creatinine(Scr)and urine β-galactosidase(GAL).Results.(1)Serum Cys-C was lower than those of control group after 24 hours(P<0.05);serum creatinine,serum Cys-C and urine GAL in treatment group were all significantly lower than the control group after 72 hours(P<0.01),estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)in treatment group was higher than the control group(P<0.01).(2)Treatment group after 72 hours urinary GAL decreased compared with preoperative 24 hours(P<0.05),serum creatinine was significantly lower compared with preoperative(P<0.01);compared with preoperative glomerular filtration rate increased(P<0.01);Postoperative 24 hours compared with preoperative,all detected indexes were no significant difference(P>0.05).(3)in the control group serum Cys-C after 24 hours was higher than before CAG(P<0.05);Urine GAL after 72 hours was riser than before CAG(P<0.05),after 72 hours compared with preoperative,serum creatinine,urine GAL and serum Cys-C increased significantly,and glomerular filtration rate decreased significantly(P<0.01).(4)Of the 80 patients who completed the study after 72 hours,5 developed CIN,A diagnosis of CIN is made in0(0%)and 5(12.5%)patients in the treatment and control groups,respectively(P<0.01).Conclusions.Contrast agents has a harm effect on renal function;Baoshen tablet can reduce serum Cys-C,Scr and urine GAL,and it can reduce the damage of contrast media and have a recovery effect on renal function probably.Baoshen tablet treatment decrease the incidence of CIN and has certain prevention function contrast nephropathy probably.
