Clinical Observation On The Treatment Of Chronic CSC With Traditional Chinese Medicine Combined With Half-dose Photodynamic Therapy

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine combined with half-dose of verteporfin photodynamic therapy(PDT)in the treatment of chronic central serous chororetinopathy(CSC).Methods:Retrospective analysis of 51 eyes of 60 patients diagnosed with chronic CSC.All the patients were divided into observation group and control group.The observation group was treated with traditional Chinese medicine decoction based on the principles of TCM syndrome differentiation,the control group were just treated with half-dose of verteporfin PDT,to observe and compare the efficacy of the two groups.A total of 27 cases(36 eyes)were included in the observation group,other 24 cases(24 eyes)were included in the control group.The best corrected visual acuity,the highest point of the subretinal fluid uplift and the distance between the retinal pigment epithelium were observed,and the American National Eye Institute(25-Item National Eye Institute Visual Functioning Questionnaire,NEI-VFQ-25)was used to evaluate the current quality of life of all patients to observe the clinical efficacy of therapies and the impact on the quality of life of patients.Results:?In terms of visual function,the patients' visual acuity in observation group improved continuously,after 3 months,visual acuity improved significantly compared with before treatment;the control group increased slowly,after 6 months the visual acuity improved with statistically significant.There was significant difference between the two groups of visual acuity 3 months later and 6 months later,observation group's visual acuity improved significantly better than the control group.?In terms of the retinal fluid absorption,the two groups of patients'subretinal fluid were significantly absorbed,the observation group received significantly in one month,continued absorbing but showed no statistically significant;The control group of patients' subretinal fluid absorbed in one month,still absorbed in three months,the difference is still has statistically significant.There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups.?There was no linear correlation between the best corrected visual acuity and the subretinal fluid absorption in the observation group,while the control group was linearly related.? The results of NEI-VQF-25 showed that the total score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group,and the observation group get the higher scores in terms of the total visual acuity,distant vision activity,social role restriction,driving,color vision and peripheral vision compared with the control group,the difference between the two groups was statistically significant.The quality of life of the observation group was better than that of the control group.Conclusion:The traditional Chinese medicine combined with half-dose of verteporfin photodynamic therapy can effectively improve the visual acuity of chronic CSC patients and promote the absorption of subretinal fluid in chronic CSC patients,and improve the distance visual acuity,color vision,peripheral vision and improve the quality of life of patients.
