Background and Objective Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma(AITL)is a frequent subtype of Peripheral T-cell lymphoma(PTCL),accounting for 18.5% of PTCL.The study suggests that AITL is derived from T-cell follicular helper cells(TFH).The clinical course of AITL is generally aggressive and shows poor prognosis. At present, although there are many new treatments and drugs, but the survival of AITL patients did not significantly improve. Its clinical characteristics and prognostic factors are not well established. To clarify the clinical characteristics and prognostic features of AITL,we conducted a retrospective study. This study,39 patients with AITL who were diagnosed by histopathology and immunohistochemistry were collected from the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University from February 2009 to June 2016.And all cases were followed up.Aiming to define the clinical features and prognostic factors. Methods The Clinical data of 39 patients with AITL admitted to The First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University from February 2009 to June 2016 were collected. All patients were followed up.Factors associated with OS were analyzed univariately by Kaplan–Meier estimates and log-rank test. Results The median age was 62 years old for 39 patients, and the male-to-female was 2.5:1.Patients with age>60 years was found in 21(54%)cases,Ann arbor staging showed that 30(77%)cases were stage III-IV.The ECOG>1 was found in 13(33%)cases,29(74%)cases had elevated LDH,20(51%)cases had increased Beta 2-microglobulin.The low level of albumin was found in 19(49%)cases,19(49%)cases had increased lymphocyte,12(31%)cases had > 1 extranodal involvement,16(41%)cases had serous cavity effusion,Ki-67 ? 50% was found in 11(28%)cases,33(85%)cases had an international prognostic index(IPI)score?2,All patients were treated by combined chemotherapy, and 29 of them received standard CHOP-based treatment. The complete response rate and partial response rate of the entire group were 23% and 36% respectively. The overall response rate was 59%.The expected 1-year,2-year and 3-year overall survival rate was 81%,59%,40%,respectively.Univariate analysis showed that ECOG>1,extranodal involvement > 1 site, serous cavity effusion,Ki-67 ? 50% were prognostic factors of AITL(P < 0.05).Conclusion Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma is highly aggressive with poor prognosis.ECOG>1,extranodal involvement > 1 site, serous cavity effusion,Ki-67 ? 50% may be prognostic factors of AITL.
