| ObjectiveTo observe and discuss the clinical effect and safety of modified Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu Decoction in treating rheumatoid arthritis(RA)combining anemia,according to the etiology and pathogenesis characteristics of RA and applying the method of combining TCM and WM.MethodAltogether 60 patients with RA combining anemia were selected and Ran-domly divided into 2 groups,with 30 cases in the control group and the other 30 cases in the treatment group.Patients in the control group were given Methotrexate(10mg,oral administration,once per week)with Etanercept(25mg,hypodermic injection,twice per week;when it comes to the ninth week,change to 25mg,once per week).For the treatment group,modified Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu Decoction(one dose per day)was added based on the basic treatment of western medicine.Both the two groups took medicine for 12 weeks.Then their joint symptoms,anemia symptoms,lab indexes,TCM syndrome scores,DAS28 scoring and adverse reactions were recorded and compared for analysis.Results1.As for the total curative effects,there were no cured cases in both of the two groups.In the control group,those with excellent effects were 14 cases,the effective cases were 8 and ineffective cases were 8,thus the total effective rate was 73.33%;in the treatment group,those with excellent ef-fects were 20 cases,the effective cases were 9 and ineffective case was only 1,thus the total effective rate was 96.7%.Therefore,the total effective rates of the two groups were of significant difference(P<0.05).2.As for the curative effects of joints in RA,the comparative diffe-rences of the two groups in terms of joint symptoms(tender and swollen joint counts)and inflammatory marks(ESP,CRP)were of statistical significance(P<0.05),but the differences in RF and morning stiffness duration had no statistical significance(P>0.05).It thus indicates that modified Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu Decoction combining western medicine treatment is better than the pure western medicine treatment in reducing swelling,pain and Inflam-matory marks.3.As for the curative effects of anemia,after treatment,the treatment group and control group showed obvious differences in anemia symptoms(pale white or sallow complexion,spontaneous perspiration and palpitation,Phys-ical and mental fatigue)and anemia related lab tests(RBC,Hb),with Statist-ical significance(P<0.05).It thus indicates that modified Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu Decoction combining western medicine treatment is better than the pure anti rheumatic treatment in improving anemia.4.As for TCM syndrome scores,the difference between the two groups in terms of TCM syndrome score was of statistical significance(P<0.05).It indicates that modified Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu Decoction combining western medicine treatment is better than the pure western medicine treatment in improving syndrome scores.5.As for disease activity,the comparative difference between the two groups in terms of DAS28 score was of statistical significance(P<0.05).It indicates that modified Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu Decoction combining western medicine treatment is better than the pure western medicine treatment in reducing RA disease activity.6.In terms of safety,no serious adverse reaction was seen in patients of the two groups,and their vital signs,blood routines,urine routines,stool routines,hepatorenal functions and other safety indexes had no obvious ab-normity,showing that the treatments to the two groups both had high safety level.ConclusionThe modified Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu Decoction combining anti rheumatic drugs can obviously relieve the joint symptoms and anemia symptoms of RA and anemia patients,reduce the inflammation indexes ESR,CRP,increase RBC and Hb,and improve the TCM syndrome scores and disease activity.It thus proves the curative effect of modified Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu Decoction and the TCM advantages in curing RA combining anemia,offers powerful clinical evidence for the clinical application and generalization of the Decoction,and opens a new road for its further exploration and promotion. |
