Background:Lipoprotein(a)(Lp[a])is a complex human plasma lipoprotein that was found to be an independent predictor of major adverse cardiovascular in several studies.Variability in the heart rate and blood pressure has emerged as a novel prognostic maker of cardiovascular system.Recently,a high visit-to-visit variability in HDL-C and LDL-C was found to be associate with higher risk of cardiovascular outcomes.Whether visit-to-visit variability in LP(a)level on cardiovascular outcomes is unknown. Objectives:This study sought to evaluate the role of visit-to-visit variability in LP(a)on cardiovascular outcomes of patients with a history of Acute Coronary Syndromes(ACS).Methods:559 patients from Sir RUN RUN SHAW hospital who presenting with ACS and surviving to discharge were analyzed.Visit-to-visit LP(a)variability was evaluated from 2months after discharge on the basis of corrected variation independent of mean(cVIM,primary measure).Result:After an average of 18.52±10.62 months follow-up,the MACE group had a higher visit-to-visit LP(a)variability compared with the non-MACE group.Age,BMI,mean follow up LDL-C level is associate with LP(a)variability. Conclusion:LP(a)variability is an independent predictor of major adverse cardiovascular events in patients presenting with ACS.
