ObjectiveStudy the status of posttraumatic growth,discuss the differences among demographic posttraumatic growth,analyze the relationship between posttraumatic growth and perceived social support,mental resilience,coping style,self-efficacy,positive affect and negative affect,understand the mental status quo of adult patients after open-heart surgery,provide clinical empirical reference for their mental health education and psychosomatic rehabilitation,effectively cope with life,integrate into society as soon as possible,and eventually improve the quality of life.Methods220 adult patients who received open-heart surgery 3 months ago in 3 third class A hospital in Shandong Provincial during October 2015 to August 2016 was chosen randomly.Use quantitative method,choose convenient sampling,application the general data questionnaire,Posttraumatic Growth Inventory,Perceived social support scale,The 10-item Connor-DavidsonResilience Scale,Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire,General self-efficacy scale,Positive Affect and Negative Affect schedule,of the 220 sending questionnaires,totally 200 questionnaires were retrieved.to analyze the status quo and the influence of demographic variables to posttraumatic growth,analyze the relationship between posttraumatic growth and perceived social support,mental resilience,coping style,self-efficacy,positive affect and negative affect,analyze the mediating effect of mental resilience to posttraumatic growth,explore the mental status quo of adult patients after open-heart surgery.We analyzed the data using SPSS 17.0.ResultsThe total average score of those patients was 54.35±12.89.Average scores of subscales of relating to others,new possibilities,personal strength and appreciation of life were 23.55±5.00,13.98±3.89,10.56±3.08 and 6.25±2.09 respectively.Relating to others dimension gets the highest score,while the appreciation of life dimension gets the lowest score.The positive rate of posttraumatic growth was 5 7.5%.According to the demographic data,differences of posttraumatic growth in different marital status,characters and type of illness were statistically significant(P<0.05),while no difference in gender,age,title,education,income and other 10 different demographic datas were found(P>0.05).Linear regression analysis was performed with total score of posttraumatic growth as dependent variables and the mental resilience,self-efficacy,perceived social support,positive coping strategies,positive emotion as independent variables(P<0.01).And the difference between higher score group(36.52±3.59)and lower score group(30.53±6.30)was statistically significant(P<0.01).Correlation analysis results show that the resilience,general self-efficacy,perceived social support,positive coping strategies,positive affect had significantly correlated with total scores of posttraumatic growth and scores of each dimension(P<0.01).Negative affect had significantly negative correlation with total scores of posttraumatic growth and scores of each dimension.Negative coping strategies had no correlation with total scores of posttraumatic growth and scores of each dimension.Results showed that all the five variables can enter the regression model,including type of illness,resilience,perceived social support,positive coping strategies and positive affect.The result proved that the level of posttraumatic growth can be affected by the type of illness,and the resilience,perceived social support,positive coping strategies and positive affect were important affecting factors of posttraumatic growth.ConclusionThe positive rate of the posttraumatic growth of patients who received open-heart surgery 3 months ago is 57.5%.Posttraumatic growth can be influenced by marital status,personality and type of illness.Type of illness,mental resilience,perceived social support,positive coping strategies,positive affect style were the main affecting factors of posttraumatic growth.The nursing staff should pay attention to the psychological status of the patients and emotional support during the period of hospitalization,pre hospital care and follow-up after discharge.The patients should improve their resilience to enhance the level of the posttraumatic growth.
