The Value Of Three-dimensional Ultrasound In Diagnosis Of Rotator Cuff

The objective of this study is to evaluate the clinical value of three-dimensional ultrasound(3D US)in the diagnosis of rotator cuff tear in patients with suspected rotator cuff tear.In this study data were collected from patients with rotator cuff tear from September 2014 to March 2016,using 3D US,two-dimensional ultrasound(2D US),and nuclear magnetic resonance examination(MRI)on 32 cases of clinically suspected patients with rotator cuff tear,taking MRI as the gold standard,calculating the sensitivity,specificity and positive predictive and negative predictive value of 2D ultrasonography and 3D ultrasonography in shoulder cuff tear value,comparing the tear area diagnosed by 3D US and the intraoperative one.19 of the 32 patients examined by 3D US were diagnosed with total tear of the supraspinatus tendon,and 13 were diagnosed with partial tear.17 of the 32 patients examined by 2D US were diagnosed with total tear of the supraspinatus tendon,and 13 were diagnosed with partial tear.20 of the 32 patients examined by MRI examination were diagnosed with total tear of the supraspinatus tendon,and 12 were diagnosed with partial tear.respectively.The results showed that the sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive value and negative predictive value of 3D US for rotator cuff tear were higher than those of 2D US.The results of 3D US are more clear,stereo,and show the shape and the range of rotator cuff tear more accurately than those of 2D US.3D US can not only diagnose with rotator cuff tear,but also show stereo display of the part,shape and area of rotator cuff tear,which is conducive to clinicians to have an intuitive understanding of ultrasound image and thus help to design the operation plan,realize individualized and accurate treatment.
