Background:Stem cell therapy is a promising treatment for cerebral palsy, which refers to a category of brain diseases that are associated with chronic motor disability in children.Autologous MSCs may be a better cell source and have been studied for the treatment of cerebral palsy because of their functions in tissue repair and the regulation of immunological processes. Methods:A total of 30 cerebral palsy patients who received stem cell treatment were enrolled as the transplantation group, which included 14 males and 16 females between the ages of 11 and 52 months. An additional 30 patients matched for age, sex, and disease severity received rehabilitation treatment as the control group. The gross motor function measurement(GMFM)scores and language quotients were observed before and 1,3,and 6 months after treatment.Results:(1)the GMFM of the 1 months,3 months and 6 months after transplantation were significantly higher than that of GMFMO According to the group(p<0.001),the recovery of motor ability in the transplantation group was significantly faster than that in the control group.(2)patients with GMGCS grade ? were higher than those in patients with grade III and grade GMFM after 1 months of treatment, and the GMFMO level was higher than those in patients with grade ?,1,3 and 6 months after treatment, compared with GMFM,which showed that patients with grade ? and ? were significantly improved after ? and ?.(3)there was no significant difference between the two groups after 1 months of treatment and compared with those before treatment, and the difference between the two groups(P<0.05)was significantly higher than that of the groups after treatment for 3 months and 6 months.Conclusion:MSC-NSCs are safe and effective for treating cerebral palsy and can significantly improve motor function in patients. The recovery of motor function showed optimal improvements within 3 months of transplantation After 6 months, the effect of motor rehabilitation gradually disappeared, but the movement ability of the children was not reversed. The improvement of language function is very late, and is generally effective in 3 months after transplantation.
