Maytenus genus has received significant attention for finding out the strong antitumor substance with macrolide, like maytansine. In addition, aromatization characteristics friedelane triterpenes and sesquiterpenoids and their alkaloids from Maytenus genus in recent years not only have characteristic, novelty, also showed a variety of activities, such as antitumor,antibacterial,anti-inflammatory,anti-HIV,multi-drug resistance and insect resistance, especially that stronger antitumor activity of aromatic friedelane triterpenes was lifted again against the boom of Maytenus research. This thesis consists of two chapters. The first chapter reviews the advances in the chemical constituents and bioactivities of the genus of Maytenus. The second chapters discuss the phytochemistical and antitumor activity studies on M.austroyunnanensis S.J.Pei et Y.H.L..M.austroyunnanensis used as a folk medicine has a long history. To further search for novel structure and antitumor active compounds,we take the modern method of active trace, using various means of separation and isolation,to study on the antitumor chemical composition of triterpenes.A total of 26 compounds was isolated, and the 23 compounds of them were identified, including 11 oleanane triterpenoids and three lupine triterpenoids, there are three new compounds of oleanane triterpenoids.respectively(a total of four new compounds*):19a-hydroxy-3-oxo-olean-12-en-29-oic acid(1*)?3?,19?-dihydroxyolean-12-en-29-oic acid(2*)?3?,19a-dihydroxyolean-12-en-29-oic acid(3*)?3?,28-dihydroxy-olean-9,12-dien-29-oic acid(4)?22(3-hydroxy-3-oxo-olean-12-en-29-oic acid(5)?3?-hydroxy-22-oxo-olean-12-en-29-oic acid(6)?3?-hydroxy-olean-12-en-29-oic acid(7)?3?,22?-dihydroxy-olean-12-en-29-oic acid(8)?3?,22a-dihydroxy-olean-12-en-29-oic acid(triptocallic acid D)(9)?3?,22?-dihydroxy-olean-12-en-29 oic acid(maytenfolic acid)(10)?3?,22?-dihydroxy-olean-12-en-29-oic acid(11)?3?-hydroxy-lup-12-en-28-oic acid(12)?3-epiglochidiol(13)?lup-20(29)-ene-3p,30-diol(14)?austroyunnanen(15*)?(-)-Pinoresinol(16)?epigallocatechin(17)?(-)-epicatechin(18)?(+)-catechin(19)?methyl-2,4-dihydro-xy-6-methylbenzoate(20)?2,3-dihydroxypropyl-9(Z),12(Z)-octadecadienoate(21)?8(S),13(R)-dihydroxy-9(E),11(E)-octadecadienoic acid(22)?1,18-(Z)-octadec-9-enedioic acid(23)?The study on antitumor activity of constituents from M.austroyunnanensis S.J.Pei et Y.H.L.suggested that triterpenes,5,7,9,12,13 showed obvious activity against HeLa cells.
