Clinical Study On The Treatment Of Type 2 Diabetes With Depression By The Method Of Soothing The Liver,Calming The Heart,Nourishing Yin And Activating Blood

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of Soothing The Liver,Calming The Heart,Nourishing Yin and Activating Blood in treating type 2 diabetes with depression,to provide the clinical evidence for treating type 2 diabetes with depression using TCM,to better guide the clinical differentiation and treatment of type 2 diabetic patients with depression.Methods: This research divides 80 cases of type 2 diabetic patients with depression in accord with the inclusive criteria into treatment group and control group by the stochastic method,with 40 cases being brought into each group.Both groups were treated with the basic treatment in the essentially same treatment principle(including diet therapy,exercise therapy,hypoglycemic therapy,etc).At the same time,the treatment group was treated with the Chinese herb decoctions of Soothing The Liver,Calming The Heart,Nourishing Yin and Activating Blood which is taken by one dose per day,on the morning and evening while the control group was given Deanxit for treatment once a day before sleeping.Both groups were given three courses of treatment,each course including 3 weeks.Before and after treatment,the TCM clinical symptoms(including total scores,the TCM efficacy index and individual scores),the scores of Hamilton Depression Scale(17 items),fasting blood glucose,2-hour postprandial blood sugar,glycosylated hemoglobin,blood lipid level,hemorheology index and safety of both groups were evaluated.The related data was analyzed statistically.Result: 1 After treatment,the fasting blood glucose,2-hour postprandial blood sugar and glycosylated hemoglobin of both groups declined in various degrees,and the treatment group was better than the control group(P<0.05).2After treatment,the levels of TC,TG and LDL-C of both groups declined in different degrees while the levels of HDL-C of them increased(P<0.05),and the treatment group was better than the control group(P<0.05).3 After treatment,the hemorheology indexes of both groups declined in different degrees,and the treatment group was better than the control group(P<0.05).4After treatment,the total and individual score of the TCM clinical symptoms of both groups had obvious improvement,while the treatment group was obviously better than the control group(P<0.05).In the aspect of the TCM efficacy index,there were 10 cases in clinical control,20 cases excellence,7 cases utility and 3 cases nullity in the treatment group whose total effctive rates were 92.50% while the ones of the control group were 80.00%,the treatment group was obviously better than the control group(P<0.05).5 After treatment,the scores of Hamilton Depression Scale(17 items)of boths groups were significantly improved,while the treatment group was obviously better than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion: Chinese medicine of Shu Gan Ning Xin,Nourishing Yin and Activating blood can significantly improve the TCM clinical symptoms and the scores of Hamilton Depression Scale(17 items),significantly reduced the fasting blood glucose,the 2-hour postprandial blood sugar and the glycosylated hemoglobin,improve the blood lipid metabolization and the high blood viscous state in type-2 diabetic patients with depression.
