The Effect Analysis Of Rectangular Frame And Hip Spica Cast Staging External Fixation For The Treatment Of Femoral Shaft Fractures In Preschool Age Children

Objective: To observethe clinical curative effect of Rectangular frame and hip spica cast staging external fixation for the treatment of femoral shaft fractures in Preschool age children,comparing with the methods of skin traction and elastic intramedullary nails,and provide reference for clinical treatment.Methods: Since December 2012 to September 2016,we collected the Preschool age patients of pediatric femoral shaft fractures in total 101 cases,including of 35 patients of Rectangular frame and hip spica cast staging external fixation,36 patients of elastic intramedullary nails and 30 patients of skin traction,After the treatment,compared and analyzed the hospitalization time,hospitalization expenses,total weight-bearing time,fracture healing time,complications and clinical efficacy.Results: All the patients in the three groups were followed up from 6 to 24 months.The hospitalization time,total weight-bearing time,fracture healing time in the external fixation group were similar to those of the elastic intramedullary nail group(P > 0.05),which were shorter than those in the skin traction group(P < 0.05).The hospitalization expenses and complications of the patients in the external fixation group were less than those in the skin traction group and the elastic intramedullary nailing group(P< 0.05).The clinical efficacy of the three groups was evaluated according to the “diagnosis of common diseases and therapeutic efficacy(standard)”.The excellent and good rate of the external fixation group was 94.28%,the excellent and good rate of the skin traction group was 83.33%,and the excellent and good rate of the elastic intramedullary nail group was 100%.Conclusion: Rectangular frame and hip spica cast staging external fixation treating Preschool age patients of pediatric femoral shaft fractures has the advantages of small injury,reliable fixation,short hospitalization time,low treatment cost,early weight-bearing activities,fast healing and less complications.It is an effective treatment for femoral shaft fracture in preschool age children.
