Background Alzheimer's disease is a clinical and pathological feature of progressive degenerative neuropathy,where the patient can not completely take care of themselves,and usually care is provided by the immediate family.The ramifications of long-term care on family caregivers include physiological and psychological pressure;loss of the normal life and social interaction;and a greatly reduced quality of life.While reducing caregiver quality of life will affect the condition and prognosis of patients with dementia,leading to nausea cycle.Therefore,finding ways to improve the quality of life for Alzheimer's caregivers as a whole is worth serious consideration to explore the issue.Objective To investigate the quality of life of patients with Alzheimer's Disease,City A family caregivers,and to explore the influencing factors in order to provide a basis for improving the quality of life of elderly patients with dementia family caregivers and the development of relevant health policies.Methods1.Study Object Taking the city Zhumadian as the source,from selection of dementia patients and their care in elderly patients with dementia and care or outpatient hospital department of Neurology,the first people's Hospital of the third people's Hospital,the Fourth People's Hospital,Central Hospital and sanatorium,and three A city district management complete 12 community health service in the center.2.Study methods2.1 Using the general information questionnaire survey of caregiver's gender,age,education level,marital status,religious belief,work status,perceived health status,disease status,family income,daily care,home care period time,take care of the number of relationships with patients,whether living with patients,medical expenses and other pressure;investigation of patients' age,gender,education level,course of disease,type of disease,living conditions,medical payment,dementia rating etc.2.2 Using the general health questionnaire(SF-36),patients were investigated from 8dimensions of body physiological function,social function,role limitations due to physical pain and overall mental health,emotional problems caused by role restrictions,vitality,general health perceptions of senile dementia patients and their caregivers' quality of life.The specific way by the investigator to release the questionnaire,the questionnaire by the investigation object to fill in their own.Methods: according to the scores of SF-36 scale score method,the scale items were reverse conversion,and the original scores into percentile scores,the transformation of the way: percentile scores n(lowest score-the actual score possible)/(the highest score-the lowest possible score difference * 100)].The score of the 8 dimensions and the overall quality of life scores,the higher the score,the smaller the functional damage,the better the quality of life.3.Statistical methods Typing all the survey data through Epi Data 3.0 software,set up data base,Statistical analyze to the data through SPSS16.0 software.Quantitative data through t-test,Count data through X2 test,multiple analysis factors through Logistic regression equation.Which has statistical meaning through the difference of P<0.05.Results1.In elderly patients with dementia,family caregivers average score of each dimension were: "physiological functions"(74.05 ± 20.08)points,"the role of physical problems caused by limitations"(37.51 ± 34.67)points,"social function"(61.12 ± 38.75)points,"physical pain"(73.93 ± 22.48)points,"the overall mental health"(43.24 ± 21.72)points,"the role of emotional problems caused by limitations"(45.28 ± 39.95)points,"dynamic"(55.76 ± 19.88)points,"the overall feeling of health"(45.06 ± 17.24)points,the dimensions were significantly lower than the national norm score and was statistically significant(P <0.05).2.Single factor in elderly patients with dementia family caregivers quality of life analysis showed that caregivers perceived health status,medical costs pressure,time day care,home care to share the number of family income,whether living with the patient,the patient's age,course of disease,the patient self-care health and quality of life of care givers have significant correlation.3.Multivariate analysis,analysis showed that caregivers poor perceived health status,daily care for a long time,medical costs pressure,patient self-care and living conditions are poor in elderly patients with dementia and family caregivers' quality of life of patients' independent risk factor.Conclusion Quality of life of family caregivers of Senile dementia patients in Zhumadian are significantly lower than the national norm level.The affecting factors includes caregivers' health status,the pressure of medical expenses,daily care time,whether living with patients and patient self-care status.The health education,psychological support and social support to family caregivers will lessen the burden of caring for and improve the quality of life.
