ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical effect of atorvastatin, berberine and a combination of atorvastatin and berberine on diabetes mellitus combined with cerebral stroke. Offering therotical basises of combinations on treating diabetes mellitus combined with cerebral stroke.MethodTo study the clinical effect of atorvastatin, berberine and a combination of atorvastatin and berberine on diabetic cerebral infarction,86 cases with this disease were randomly divide into three groups and treated atorvastatin, berberine or a combination of atorvastatin and berberine respectively. The three treatments both being taken for two months(one course lasting for one months), have a comprehensive analysisof the effects through the symptoms?body sign?blood fat?hemorheology index ect.ResultIt is shown that the totally effective rate of atorvastatin group is 70.4%, it can decrease blood lipid (including TC?TG and LDL-C)?plasma viscosity?RBC?fibrinogen and improve neurologic impairment.The totally effective rate of berberine group is 75.9%, there are significant improvements in blood sugar?blood lipid (including TC?TG and LDL-C)?Low cut blood viscosity?Low shear viscosity of whole blood?RBC and neurologic impairment.After treated by a combination of atorvastatin and berberine the totally effective rate is 90%. The treatment could distinctly improve patients' iabetes symptoms neur-function and effectively reduce blood sugar?blood fat?hemorheology indexes and all of which were superior to the atorvastatin and berberine groups respectively.ConclusionAtorvastatin combined with berberine can reduce blood viscidity, regulate blood flow condition, reduce blood lipids which proves the effectiveness on diabetes mellitus combined with cerebral stroke.
