Objective Studying the related factors that affect the postoperative recurrence of the patients with craniopharyngioma to reduce the clinical recurrence after surgery. Methods The clinical data from May 2005 to May 2015, 86 cases of postoperative patients with craniopharyngioma treated in the Neurosurgery Department of general hospital of Ningxia Medical University, were retrospectively analyzed. Using logistic regression to analysis the correlation between patient's gender, age, tumor size, location, nature, pathological type, calcification, the degree of adhesion and surgical resection of craniopharyngioma with the postoperative recurrence. Results According to the multiple factors logistic regression analysis showed that the patients' gender, age, tumor location, nature, and calcification are not associated with postoperative recurrence(P > 0.05); While the size, pathological type, the degree of adhesion and surgical resection of craniopharyngioma is related with the postoperative recurrence.(P < 0.05).Conclusions The size, pathological type, the degree of adhesion and surgical resection of craniopharyngioma are important factors influencing the postoperative recurrence.
