Objective:To investigate the situation of hypertension and its influencing factors of adolescents and children aged 7-18 in Ningxia Yinchuan, Wuzhong City, and study the relationship between their hypertension and Leu72 Met polymorphism of Ghrelin gene.To provide the basic datas for prevention of hypertension of children and adolescents.Methods:12 schools were selected in Yinchuan,Wuzhong by stages(elementary, junior and high school) using stratified cluster random sampling method, then classes were selected randomly from each grade in the schools. All of the students of the classes were investigated on the basis of informed consent. Questionnaire including basic information, whether or not the parents had hypertension, parents smoked and daily smoking quantity; Physical examination including to measure height, weight, waist circumference, hip circumference and blood pressure, each were measured twice, and took the means; Analyzed genotypes and allele frequencies of Leu72 Met of Ghrelin gene according to whether or not had hypertension.Date was inputted in Epidata3.02,and SPSS19.0 was used for statistical analysis. Results:Among 7569 subjects, male accounted 3725(49.2%), female accounted 3844(50.8%),and the ratio was 0.969:1 of male to female; Hui accounted 2839(37.5%), Han accounted 4630(61.2%) and other nationals accounted 100 people(1.3%);City accounted 5378 people(71.1%),rural accounted 2191(28.9%) according to the residence, average age was(12.64±3.268).There were 1279 people who had hypertension, the relevance rate was 16.9% in those surveyed,There were 975 people who had borderline hypertension, the relevance rate was 12.9%. The differences of hypertension was not statistical significance(?~2=0.048, P=0.827>0.05) in different sex, the differences was statistical significance(?~2=212.536, P<0.001) in different age group, the relevance rate of age of 11 was highest, then the 8 and 9. The relevance rate of hypertension of Hui are lower than the Han(?~2=9.590, P =0.002),the relevance rate of hypertension of cities more than the rural(?~2=58.651, P<0.001). The difference of hypertension was statistically significant(?~2=545.968, P<0.001) in different BMI, the relevance rate of obesity group was highest,it was 54.8%. Children's hypertension had no relationship with parents are smoking or not(?~2=0.527, P=0.913>0.05). Children's hypertension had no relationship with parents had hypertension or not(?~2=1.325, P=0.516>0.05). The multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that obesity and waist to height ratio are risk factors for hypertension, age and residence are protective factors for hypertension.1086 fasting blood was taken and tested under agreed, through analysis showed that Leu72 Met genotype and allele frequencies of Ghrelin gene had no significant difference in hypertension group and non hypertension group(P>0.05).The differences of systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure were no statistical significance between the genotypes(P>0.05).Conclusions:The hypertension relevance rate was higher of adolescents and children in Yinchuan and Wuzhong of Ningxia. Residence and age were the protective factors of blood pressure, overweight and obesity, waist to height ratio are risk factor for hypertension. This study did not found correlation of Leu72 Met SNP of Ghrelin gene and hypertension. Therefore, the prevention and treatment of hypertension, controlling weight is particularly important.
