Objective:Hallux losts normal anatomical structure and slants to the foot lateral deviation, resulting in the forefoot pain. This kind of deformation called Hallux Valgus. There are many treatment method to treat this disease. Basis for the selection of treatment method is severity of the disease and anatomical pathology. To guiding the choice of operation mode, scholars both at home and abroad founded the classification method, but lack of the method that can reflect the severity of Hallux Valgus and can reflect the anatomical pathology of Hallux Valgus. Therefore, we created the classification method. Methods:In the basic research stage, With 37 cases of Hallux Valgus patients, by observing the anatomical changes, combined with the literature research, we created the classification method. In the stage of clinical research, we selected 282 feet, before the operation, through the relevant inspection, we statistics the number of patients. From 10 to 36 months of observation, we evaluate the efficacy of the surgery. In every type of Hallux Valgus, using the statistical principle, To compare the treatment effect of the common operation. Results:In the stage of basic research, for Hallux Valgus, we propose new method. According to the HVA and IMA, it divided Hallux Valgus into three types. In each category, ording to pathological changes, divided into several subtypes. In clinical studies, 282 cases of Hallux Valgus foot, 34 cases were lost to follow-up. Remaining 248 cases, 47 cases of mild Hallux Valgus, 82 cases of moderate or severe hallux valgus, 119 cases of severe Hallux Valgus. We compared the efficacy of surgery. In mild Hallux Valgus, Silver surgery and Mcbride surgery was no significant difference. In moderate and severe Hallux Valgus, the soft tissue surgery and metatarsal osteotomy effective than simple soft tissue surgery. Conclusion:The classification method of Hallux Valgus can simultaneously reflect the severity of hallux valgus and hallux valgus pathological changes, both of which is the basis for operative selection. Using this classification, we can better choice surgical methods to reduce the blindness of treatment of hallux valgus.
