Objective:To research and evaluate the fracture healing and limb functional rehabilitation of femoral closed fractures which using expandable intramedullary nailing FixionTM system,and discusses the related postoperative complications.Methods:To follow up the patients with femoral shaft fracture and with treatment of FixionTM system during January 2005 to December 2013 in the department of orthopaedics trauma of Xijing hospital,Fourth Military Medical University.According to include and exclude standards,89 cases were followed up,and to statistically analyzed the fracture healing,the state of internal fixation,postoperative complications,and evaluate limb hip,knee function through the function scale.Results:89 patients have been completed follow-up,postoperative follow-up of 1.5 years to 10 years,the average of 4.5 years.Fracture healing time 10-14 weeks,12.05±3.43 weeks on average.During follow-up,there was no internal fixation loosening,breakage,inflation missing and other complications.15 of the 89 patients had different degree of complications,knee joint dysfunction in 10 cases,limb deformity 4 cases,infection 1 case,and the incidence of complications was 16.85%.The limb fractures which use FixionTM nail were healed well,and the excellence rate of limb function after surgery was 91%(excellent in 81 cases,good 6 cases,moderate 2 cases).Conclusion:The Fixion nail system in the treatment of femoral shaft fractures,postoperative recovery of limb function is well,but there is part of the limb function in patients with complications.
