Microscopic Oblique Lumbar Interbody Fusion For The Treatment Of Single Lumbar Disc Tuberculosis

Objective: The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of microscopic oblique lumbar interbody fusion in the treatment of single lumbar disc tuberculosis.Methods: 22 cases of single lumbar disc tuberculosis were retrospectively studied from December 2012 to October 2015 which were treated with microscopic oblique lumbar interbody fusion in Fujian Provincial Hospital. There were 3 patients located in L2-3,and 8 patients located in L3-4,also,11 patients located in L4-5. All of them received anterior radical debridement and anterior instrumentation,then we recorded the changes of spinal nerve function,VAS score,correction of spinal deformity,the evaluation of fusion status,ODI.ESR and CRP at 2 weeks, 3 months and six months after operation. All the data were statistically analyzed using SPSS19.0 software.Results: The complete follow-up was obtained in 22 patients,The follow up time was between 6 months and 16 months, and the average time was 12 months. The time of operation was between 50 min and 90 min, with the average time was 65 min, and the amount of bleeding was between 30 ml and 100 ml, with the average amount was 65 ml. The wound primary healing achieved in all patients,no severe complications were found. No recurrence of tuberculosis was found during the follow-up period. CT and MRI indicated that all the patients got good fusion without internal fixation loosening and fracture. At the last follow-up, all patients achieved clinical cure standard. The preoperative neurological function of 22 cases of tuberculosis patients according to the Frankel grading display that:4 cases in grade C, 5 cases in grade D, 13 cases in grade E, postoperative Frankel grade: 22 cases in grade E. And the significant difference was noted with respect to Frankel grade,Cobb's angle, ESR, CRP and ODI before and after operation.(p<0.05)Conclusions: Base on strictly control operative indication,indication.operation of lumbar tuberculosis by OLIF can all get good curative effec,it is a secure,viable,raletive convenient surgery.
