Objective:To analyze the differences of genetic polymorphism of CYP2E1 and GST between Tibetan and Han in Qinghai province in order to enrich the data of drug metabolism enzymes in ethnic minorities and provide theoretical basis of safety and effective medication. Methods: Collected the venous blood samples from the healthy Tibetan and Han who did the physical examination in the Qinghai university hospital between the healthy examination people, including 181 Tibetan cases and 122 Han cases. The CYP2E1 and GST were investigated by polymerase chain reaction(PCR) and restriction fragment length polymorphism(RFLP).Results: The distribution frequencies of the three CYP2E1 genotypes C1/C1, C1/C2, C2/C2 were 35.6%, 14.7% and 49.7% in Tibetan group, 37.1%, 39.7% and 20.7% in the Han group, respectively. There was significant difference between the two groups(P =0.000). The Tibetan group was dominated by the type of C2/C2, significantly higher than that of Han group. The type of C1/C2 in Han was significantly higher than that of Tibetan. The distribution frequencies of GSTM1(-), GSTT1(-), GSTM1/T1(-) were 34.3%, 17.1%, 29.3% in Tibetan group, while 31.1%, 10.7%, 36.9% in Han group, respectively. There was no significant difference of GST genetic polymorphism between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions: There was no significant difference of GST gene polymorphisms between Tibetan and Han groups. The main genotype of CYP2E1 was C2/C2 in Tibetan group and the distribution frequency was significantly higher than Han group. The Han was dominated by C1/C2 and C1/C1 of CYP2E1 genotype. The distribution frequency of C1/C2 in Han group was significantly higher than in Tibetan group.
